Silk Charmeuse Top by Dolley Designs

dolleydesignssilk.gif Color can sometimes make or break a top, and in this next case, we think it definitely makes makes it. The Silk Charmeuse Top by Dolley Designs stands out because of the beautiful green color that is pretty unique. This shirt is made of 100% silk charmeuse, has two ties in the front, and is a sharp V-neck. You have to make sure you tie the front well, or else the V-neck will go down to your belly button. If you like this top, you might also like two similar shirts, the Triple Weave Chiffon Top and the Silk Print Top, both of which are also by Dolley Designs.

Brocade Racer by LaROK

larokracer.jpg Here's another tank top that will keep you cool for the remainder of the summer, the LaROK Brocade Racer. The Shirt Snob likes this shirt because it isn't too complex. This top is a normal tank with a metallic weaving around the neck and arms, but nothing too weird or complex. It is a nice top that you can just throw on before leaving the house, it will make you look sophisticated and a little funky. One neat feature is that the straps have buttons on them. We aren't sure if this means they adjustable or not, but it's a neat little feature. Besides black, this tank top also comes in dark heather, plum, and yucca.

Floral Blue Sienna Top by Mimo

siennatop.jpg Here is a shirt that the Shirt Snob thinks is a great addition to your closet. Paired with a simple pair of pants and jacket or sweater, the Mimo Floral Blue Sienna Top offered by Luv Charlie could last you well into the fall months. This silk tank top has smocking throughout the bust area, an empire waist, and spaghetti straps. We love the print of this shirt as well as it's casualness. Not too many shirts look relaxed and yet still sexy, but this top certainly does.

Two from Urban Outfitters

uoeyelet1.jpg Urban Outfitters has two really cute tops with eyelets that the Shirt Snob is drooling over they are so cute and feminine looking. The first, the Lux Scalloped Eyelet Blouse, is almost-sheer, light weight cotton. It has lace going around the edges, and two layers with the top one coming up the front a bit. This laces up to the top of the scoop neck with a satin ribbon. There is a hidden zipper on the side, so you don't have to lace up every time you put it on. This blouse comes in ivory only, which, when combined with all the other features, really gives it an innocent look.

uoeyelit2.jpg The other shirt is the Lux Split Tie Front Caftan. It has pointelle panels going down the front as well as around the cuffs of the sleeves, which are 3/4 length. The front comes together with a single tie, so you can wear this shirt as a very light summer jacket or as a cover up over a your summer shirts. We think this is a great purchase to make as summer comes to an end and the air gets cooler. This top comes in two colors, natural white and vino.

Gold Sequin Babydoll

goldsequintank.jpg Here are more great tank tops that the Shirt Snob would love to own, the Gold Sequin Babydoll sold by Shop Intuition. We love the designs of the sequins all over this top, it's so intricate and beautiful! The top is snug against the body, but the bottom flows out so it isn't too warm. You could easily pair this up with short, a nice pair of jeans, or a pretty skirt. The tank is made up of 100% silk and it's straps are adjustable. It comes in two colors, turquoise and fuschia.

Boho-print babydoll top by Banana Republic

bananatank.jpg Although the Shirt Snob loves the big designers, we must admit that there's plenty of great tops at many of the stores you'll find in your local mall. Here we've found a great one from Banana Republic, the Boho-print babydoll top. This tank top is 100% silk, has spaghetti straps, and ties around the waist. There is also a hidden zipper on the left side. The flower design throughout this shirt is pretty, but what makes it great to me is the cut at the bottom, Coming down to a point on each hip makes the top stand out amongst all the other tank tops out there. Coming in yellow rose and summer pear, this top is also available in petite sizes.

Athena by Foley and Corinna

athenafront.jpg Another Greek top! You will remember our post on the two Greek inspired tops by Cynthia Vincent last month, and here is another shirt using the same country for its influence. This beauty is the Athena in Teal by Foley and Corinna. You have the chance to be creative with this top, for the metalic leather binding around the stomach can be wrapped around in whatever way pleases you. The top strap also ties in the back, and you can put it as a tank top or with a racer back. The silk material is shorter in the front and back and longer on the sides, creating an angular look to the blouse. Besides teal, this shirt also comes in black as well as in a dress.

Painted Lady Top by Nanette Lepore

PaintedLady.jpg The Shirt Snob has found one of the most feminine tank tops out there right now, the Painted Lady Top by Nanette Lepore. The details of this top are amazing. The butterfly on the bottom right side and the star and bow at the top left of the shirt along with the lace around the boarders and the creme and pink colors give this shirt such a flirty yet innocent feel that really makes it stand out against everything else out there. We love the buttons going up the front, just one more detail that enhances the sweetness of this tank.

If you like this top, you may also like the Flutter Sleeve Top in creme or the Silk Peasant Top in Petal Pink, both of which are also by Nanette Lepore.

Sleeveless Scoop by Sweet Pea

SweetPeatank.jpg The Shirt Snob loves this Mesh Sleeveless Scoop by Sweet Pea. It's such a classy look that you could wear it with a skirt to a wedding or dress it down with a pair of jeans. If you want to be cooler but don't want to show off a ton of skin, this is a great shirt for you. Our favorite part of this top is definitely the ties in the front. The moss colors of the ties work perfectly with the turquoise of the top. According to the website, this tank top is also great if you have recently become pregnant, for you can continue wearing it long into your pregnancy since the stomach area isn't fitted. As someone who is trying to get pregnant right now, this fact makes me want this tank top even more.
