The Shirt Snob is a sucker for pretty floral prints. The really feminine, sweet ones that make a woman look so innocent and nice, for that's how we wish we looked. Here is a great blouse that fits in that category perfectly. The Floral Silk Top by Lauren Moffatt is 100% sheer silk. This top has a V-neck with a pleated ruffle and black piping detail on the neck and shoulders. There is also a side tie. The elegance of the floral print is what makes us love this blouse though, few shirts have a pattern that compares. Just like in the picture, we think this is a great shirt for jeans, but you can dress it up quite easily as well.

This weekend was a little cooler in Boston, and the Shirt Snob started to get excited for Fall. All we wanted to do was put our summer clothes away and put some more oranges, maroons, and browns into our wardrobes. Here is a top if you are feeling the same way we do. Made by Diane von Furstenberg, the Arwena Top in chocolate is the perfect blouse for fall in the perfect color. There is pleating around the shoulders as well as a 1 1/2" band going along the neckline. This shirt is also a wrap, in the typical von Furstenberg fashion, tying in the back to make the blouse fit your figure. If you like this shirt but not the color, it also comes in charmeuse.

If you are going to an event where you need something that covers you up a little more than the usual tanks and camis we post about, definitely consider this shirt. The Tie Back Top by Seed is unique, intricate, and beautifully designed, yet doesn't show off quite so much skin. This shirt is made of feather-light sheer silk with extra lining in the bust so you will still stay cool in the summer heat. The gold detailing around the trim of the V-neck is stunning, making this shirt stand out amongst the others wherever you go. There is also a tie in the back so you can adjust the waist so it fits you perfectly.

Urban Outfitters has two really cute tops with eyelets that the Shirt Snob is drooling over they are so cute and feminine looking. The first, the Lux Scalloped Eyelet Blouse, is almost-sheer, light weight cotton. It has lace going around the edges, and two layers with the top one coming up the front a bit. This laces up to the top of the scoop neck with a satin ribbon. There is a hidden zipper on the side, so you don't have to lace up every time you put it on. This blouse comes in ivory only, which, when combined with all the other features, really gives it an innocent look.
The other shirt is the Lux Split Tie Front Caftan. It has pointelle panels going down the front as well as around the cuffs of the sleeves, which are 3/4 length. The front comes together with a single tie, so you can wear this shirt as a very light summer jacket or as a cover up over a your summer shirts. We think this is a great purchase to make as summer comes to an end and the air gets cooler. This top comes in two colors, natural white and vino.

For a feminine twist on the hawaiian shirt, you could try the Cap Sleeved Tiered Top by development. This blouse is great because it's so versatile, you can wear it with almost anything. Nice pants into the office, a BBQ with jeans, to dinner with a skirt, and more. And with all the colors, it'll match so much. It's also a take off of the tie tops that are all over the place (and we can't stop mentioning!). The front is a tie with beads on the end of the strings to give it a unique twist. We know it's still warm out, but soon you'll have to start thinking about fall and cooler weather. This is a blouse to consider.

Retro pieces are either hit or miss for the Shirt Snob. We're still not totally into all the 80s stuff that is in all the stores, and much of the 70s clothing we also just do not get. Here is a shirt that we can get behind though. Offered by Label Los Angeles, this La Fem Blouse by Kween screams 1950s in hot pink. What we love about this time period is that the clothes were much more forgiving. You didn't have to be a size 2 to look skinny and polished. And the Shirt Snob thinks this top does the same. It's fitted in the ribs, but it blouses out below, hiding the stomach. Each one is made to order, so the one you buy may not look exactly like the picture. This also comes in black and white checkers, peach polka dots, and a red striped linen Guatemalan pattern, each with different buttons.
