We've decided to start a new column here at Shirt Snob entitled Frugal Friday. With all the issues with the economy right now, many of us cannot splurge on clothing like we once did. There are still good finds out there at stores you'd normally find at the mall. There is no shame in wearing a cute top you find at one of them, no one will see the tags anyway! To start off our first Frugal Friday, check out the Ruffle Chiffon Top at Charlotte Russe. This cute blouse can be worn with dressy bottoms, or dress it down with jeans. It has ruffle trim and buttons at the bodice, smocked elastic banding at the scoop neck, ruffles at the cap sleeves, and an empire waist. Our loyal Shirt Snob readers know we adore black and white tops. At $19.99, it is affordable for everyone.
Fall is the time of year we think about plaid, and here's a cute new plaid blouse if you need one this season. The Plaid Top by MK2K has a scoop neck, smocked panel at the front, a button up back, and elbow-length sleeves. We love black and white tops too!

James Perse is great for basics, such as the Panel Knit Shirt. It has buttons down the front, front pockets, contrasting knit panels at the sides, and 3/4 length sleeves. It's comfortable and flattering, and it looks great with your favorite pair of jeans.

It's already time to start thinking about fall and what you'll be wearing when the temperatures get a little cooler. The Eyelet Silk/Cotton Voile 3/4 Sleeve Top by Splendid is a pretty and girly option. There is ruching at the scoop neck, six buttons and a tie at the bust, eyelet detail at the bottom hem, and 3/4 length sleeves. It is available in two colors: white and graphite.

The Roman Shirt by Sunner is such a great blouse for summer. You can wear it with almost anything, it will keep you cool, and it will look fabulous with so many jackets and cardigans if you need to cover up. There are two buttons and banding at the split V-neck, ruching at the yoke, and a shirttail hem. It is also semi-sheer.
We tried to write about the School Boy Shirt II by Elizabeth and James recently, but it sold out before we had the chance. So make sure to jump on this top if you want it before it sells out again! This plaid wrinkled shirt has a fold-over collar, eight buttons down the front, a patch bust pocket, three button back gusset, shirttail hem, a single button and two inch banding at the cuffs, and elbow length sleeves. It is available in two colors, dusty aqua and lavender.

Tops like the Ariel Top by Joie get us excited for the fall. This one is still pretty light weight, but it's a great transition piece as the weather starts to turn. There is a split V-neck, ruching at the front, button-tab detail gathers the cuffs, and 3/4 length sleeves. It is semi-sheer and 100% linen.

We like the bohemian vibe of the Embroidered Jellaba Blouse by Free People. This loose fitting blouse has embroidery at the front, a split neck with a hook and eye closure and tie, elastic banding at the bottom hem, a sheer lace inset at the back, ruching at the empire waist, and button tabs at the cuffs of the short sleeves. It is available in three colors: black, twilight, and silver.

The Minna Dolman Top by Joie is not an exciting blouse, but it'd be a good staple for your wardrobe. Besides, it is rather pretty, and we adore the punch color. It has five buttons going down the front, ruching at the front, slant hip pockets, gathering at the elastic cuffs, and 3/4 length dolman sleeves. It is also semi-sheer.
