Accessory Friday-Lizzy Wishes

lizzywishespaisley.jpg Today for Accessory Friday, we are going to look at Lizzy Wishes. This site sells stationary, baby stuff, bath and body items, clothes, and lots of jewelry (we want the Cherry Drop Ring). But what we are truly in love with today are the bags on this site. We really are just drooling over them all. Maybe it's because the Shirt Snob is about to enter the baby bag world, which sounds like we are leaving the cute little purse world for a few years, so we want what we can't have. But oh, there are some great ones here. They have cute wallets (which we use as clutches sometimes) like the Light Bright Wallet and the Chic Lace Wallet, then there is the retro looking Pink Swirl Malaga Bag, the Deco Bouquet Shopper, and the 50s Style Clutch. You can also try to win a $50 e-certificate by answering a trivia question. We know you all will need new bags for the spring and summer, we hope these are some that you will like! Have a great weekend readers!

Accessory Friday-Schwa Designs

schwadesigns.jpg For Accessory Friday, we have found yet another nice jewelry shop online. This one is a little more expensive, but we really love the jewelry. Schwa Designs has earrings and necklaces, all of which come from nature's inspiration. The tagline for the site is even "jewelry of the earth." Much of designer Lauren Schwartz's pieces really do feel rather earthy. She uses a lot of jem stones and crystals in different and unique ways. Some items the Shirt Snob likes includes the Dark Star necklace with the Althea earrings, the Aster necklace, and the Skye earrings. Most items also come in sterling silver, 14K gold filled, and 14 K gold, so you have your choice of both price and look. Unfortunately, the website is not the best so we cannot link to individual items, you'll have to search around yourself. But there's a lot of very pretty things, definitely go look for something new for spring!

Accessory Friday-Anna Maa Designs

annamaa.jpg Yay Friday! Long weekend! And the Shirt Snob husband actually has a long weekend too, just shocking! To celebrate, we want jewelry. This week for Accessory Friday, we are yet again showing you jewelry. We can't help it, it's all just so pretty! Today's jewelry comes from Anna Maa, who makes rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Plenty of the bracelets are pretty, the earrings are all nice too. But what we are really obsessed with today are her rings and necklaces, specifically the gem stone ones. For example, look at the Smooth Yellow Chalcedony Cluster Necklace, with it's light yellow gems clustered on a 16" gold filled necklace. Or how about the Ruby Heart Necklace, a deep red ruby on a 17" chain. If only we had found that before Valentine's Day! And the rings! We must admit, the Shirt Snob has a thing for wire rings, especially when the wire is wrapped around a beautiful stone. Our absolute favorite ring is probably the Citrine Gold Wrapped Ring, which has golden faceted citrine on gold filled wire. The Pink Shell Pearl Sterling Wire Ring is also stunning. Basically the Shirt Snob is enamored with this stuff. If we win the Powerball on Saturday, this is the first place we're heading. There is just so much more on the website, definitely go take a look for yourselves. The designer also has a blog where she updates about her collections and a newsletter that you can sign up for to get updates.

Accessory Friday-khW Jewelry

khwearrings.jpg For Accessory Friday, check out khW jewelry. The website is done in flash or something, so we can't link to individual items, but everything is just so amazing that you all should go over there and browse. There are both necklaces and earrings. Our favorites are the Peach Moonstone Faceted Drop necklace, the Orange Chalcedony Drop necklace (which is on sale), the Rose Quartz, Garnet, Pink Sapphire earrings (also on sale), and the Pomegranate Charm earrings (on sale as well). The jewelry is unique and beautiful, we would love one of everything. You can never have too much jewelry after all.

Review: Xela Aromasticks

xela.jpg This week for Accessory Friday, we are going to write about something a little different, something that you don't wear, Xela Aromasticks. The Shirt Snob was lucky enough to win two of their fragrances thanks to the Lucky Breaks in the back of Lucky Magazine (probably our most favorite magazine ever). The big box with our fragrances came earlier this week, just in time for the Shirt Snob's birthday, and we couldn't have been more excited to try them out. We love having a beautifully smelling house, but with three cats this is harder to do than you would think. We've tried candles, but they can be dirty, you can't use them when you aren't home, and we have always been a little nervous about the safely aspects. With Xela's reed diffusers, there is no trouble and no worry. If you have 10 seconds to put it together, you will have the best smelling house on your block. All you have to do is open the top of the bottle full of the scent (is it oil? alcohol? we aren't too sure), put the wooden globe on top, place the sticks into the globe so they are sitting in the oil, and place the bottle where you'd like it. Within 24 ours, our entire apartment smelled like Vanilla Latte. We were at first concerned that it would be a little strong, but it's the perfect strength. We can smell it if we breath in deeply or walk into the house for the first time, but it's not so intrusive to be in our thoughts all the time or give us a headache.

Now, we are sure you are wondering what a reed diffuser is. We sure were at first. Here's what the website says about this:

Simply put, a reed diffuser is an ancient system for introducing fragrances into the air. It starts with a bottle of scented essential oil. The bottle is opened, and long bamboo reeds are placed inside and allowed to protrude from the top of the container. Because bamboo is porous, the reeds draw the essential oil upward and out of the bottle — where it “diffuses” or evaporates into the air. The result is a gentle, continuous release of fragrance that can last up to six months (depending on the amount of oil used).

There are many different scents. So far we've only tried the Vanilla Latte although we also won the Creme Brulee. We want to try them all though, especially the Nursery with our baby coming in a few months. There are three sizes, 16 oz, 8 oz, and 4 oz. If you like scents, you should definitely consider Xela.

Accessory Friday-Melissa Rousseau Design

rousseauviolet.jpg For Accessory Friday, we are going to look at the designs of Melissa Rousseau. We certainly realize that we have been showcasing jewelry a lot recently. But we've found a lot of great items that we personally would love to own, and it's our blog so we do what we want! Rousseau is also living in Boston, so we need to support our local designers. She makes bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces. What immediately drew us to her is the Violet Ring, but afterwards, we realized that we love all of her work. Our most loved items include the Single Violet Earrings, the Single Oval Charm Earrings, the 14k Gold Tear Drop Necklace, and the Mini Disc Charm Necklace. It can be hard to find gold jewelry that you really like, it can easily be gaudy or too much. Rousseau's jewelry is simple, clean, and yet still stunning.

Accessory Friday-Miel Accessories

mielparisa.jpg Said to be a next big thing in the January 2006 issue of Lucky Magazine, Miel Accessories are definitely worth checking out. Their purses are handmade leather and come in many different colors. We really like them all but some of the best in the Shirt Snob's opinion include the Parisa, the Stephanie, the Monica, and the Erica. Each Miel handbag is made to order, and you can even design your own from the Miel online palate. If you like to stay ahead of the trends, get a Miel bag before everyone else does, it sounds like everyone will have one soon!

Accessory Friday-Holiday Gift Ideas

koobamarcelle.jpg With the holidays quickly approaching, we're sure there are many of you that are beginning to freak out because you haven't bought all your presents yet. Or maybe you're concerned that the love of your life is leaving everything until the last moment and will end up buying costume jewelry from Macy's on December 24th. The Shirt Snob understands these feelings, so this week for Accessory Friday we're going to show you some great items, all of which are available at amazon.com, for whom today is the last day to order items using their Free Super Saver Shipping. They also can guarentee other faster shipping for a few more days, so you don't have to worry about already missing the shipping deadlines!

First, consider a Kooba bag. We love them, they are stylish but also very practical and hardy. The Marcelle in cognac, black, and toffee and the Kooba Scarlett in metallic army. These purses are so nice and will last for years; we're sure any woman would love one.

If you are interested in a purse that isn't quite so expensive, try Juicy. The Socialite is a favorite, and we love the Fluffy, which comes in smooth (in black and dirty gold), pebble (in chocolate and tea dye), the Baby Fluff Satchel With Chain in gold and metalic blue as well as pebble, and the Ultra P&G Suede Bag.

leeangelearring.jpg If jewelry is more your thing, there's tons to choose from. The Shirt Snob is a huge fan of Lee Angel, especially the earrings, and many items are even on sale! Some of our favorites (it's very hard to choose) include the Gold Rose Quartz and Crystal Drop Earring, the Gold Filigree Vintage Drop Earring with Freshwater Pearls, the Gold Peach Crystal Earring, and the Gold Jade Chandalier Earring.

We also like Erica Zap jewelry. The Pink, Green, Plum and Peacock Mixed Freshwater Pearl Cascade Necklace and the White Freshwater Pearl Necklace with Pearl and Semiprecious Stone Drop are gorgeous, as are her Lavender, Green & Grey Freshwater Pearls on Sterling Spiral Bracelet and the White Freshwater Pearl and Sterling Branch Bracelet.
