Our loyal readers are probably surprised to see we've brought Accessory Friday back. We admit we've been a bit lazy recently, but we just discovered that the owner and designer of Belle Bags, who we wrote about in February 2007, lives down the road from us! They've been kind enough to offer us a coupon code at Shy Siren who sells their wares as well as jewelry. Use the code shirtsnob15 for 15% off. This deal is good through December 31, so you can use it on your holiday shopping!

If you're anything like us, you love shirts but aren't quite as confident when it comes to jeans. Here is a great video by Shop Bop that is quite helpful if you need some assistance in choosing a favorite pair of jeans.

Peggy Li has a lot of new pieces out since we last wrote about her designs back in 2006. Her work has been seen on TV's "Grey's Anatomy", "Medium", "What About Brian?" as well as in the pages of teenVogue, Lucky and Oprah magazines. We really like her jewelry. Our top picks include the Sunstone Glow Necklace, Rose Quartz Spear Earrings, and the Sapphire Dangle Necklace.

Durt Bagz are bags with made up and funny caution signs on them. We hadn't seen anything like them before, so we were intrigued. They were started when the owner got the idea to make bags with signs on them after spotting a dramatic and funny caution sign while hiking one day. From that day on, the goal with this company was to have people never look at street signs the same way again.
The kind people over at Durt Bagz were kind enough to send the Shirt Snob a bag for review. We asked for Have You Heard This One? because we thought it was pretty funny. The picture is of a horse, a priest, and a rabbi walking into a bar. It's a satchel bag, black (although also available in khaki), and made of a polyester blend. It's a good heavy material, 15 x 14 x 6 inches, and definitely stands up to a lot of weight. So if you like to stuff your bags with lots of stuff, this will do the job great. It has five pockets - a large one on the front, and two on each side. There are no pockets inside, which we sort of like because inside pockets just take away from the space for your bigger items. The inside is lined and therefore easy to clean, and the strap is adjustable too.
The bag is a great size. It's large and can fit a lot in it, but it's not so big that it's weird looking and cumbersome. We are actually thinking about using it as a diaper bag because we don't need the inner pockets anymore and want something that doesn't look like a typical diaper bag. This would be a great bag for a lot of other uses too, including a book bag, overnight bag, carry on bag, and more. It'll make a great conversation piece with the caution sign too.
If you like Durt Bagz but don't see a sign that fits your personality, you can also add your own to their mix as well as vote on ones that others have made and placed on their site. So if you are the creative type, this is a fun place for you!
We really like our Durt Bagz and will be using it plenty in the future. If you are in the market for a casual and fun bag, this is definitely a site to consider!

We haven't had our Accessory Friday column for a couple weeks now, but we're back with it this week. And we really like what we've found. Carley Rose Jewelry is an Etsy store that uses many different materials and gemstones. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a lot of cute things. Some of our favorites include Sun Kissed, Celestial Amethyst Bracelet, and Dark - Tourmaline and Agate Necklace.

A Wren's Designs is an Etsy store that doesn't have much in their inventory, but we sure do love what they do have! The Amethyst Teardrop Glass Branch Necklace is stunning, as are the Black Teardrop Earrings with Red Branches. Check them out, you'll love them too!

We recently discovered Carolina Barbieri at Twist, and we are in heaven! Her jewelry is stunning and gorgeous, and we want everything we see. It's a bit pricy, so we won't be buying up each and every piece any time soon. But if you want to treat yourself, you should really check them out. Our favorites include the Double Peridot Necklace and the Ruby and Garnet Charm Necklace. Check out her website too.

Modish is one of the Shirt Snob's favorite blogs. We always find so many beautiful things on this blog. One that's really peaked our interest lately is Abigail A Percy. She makes very unique and beautiful jewelry, and we are drooling over a number of pieces. Our top picks are the Twist Pearl Stud Earrings, the Anemone Leaf Stud Earrings, the Sweet Horse Chestnut Outline Necklace, and the Pearl Ring Trio Set. We highly suggest you check out this designer. And thanks to Modish for yet another great find!

Mimsi Bags is a design your own handbag sites out there right now. We have a lot of fun choosing what fabrics and styles we like to personalize our own bags, and we like a lot of their handmade bags and many of their fabrics too. Some of our favorites include the Michaela, the Toshi Cloth Grocery Bag, and the Danielle Vertical Messenger Bag. Mimsi Bags also sells jewelry and other things too, so make sure you check out their website!

Another Accessory Friday, another day writing about jewelry. Can we tell what is on the Shirt Snob's mind lately? We want to buy a lot of new pieces, and while we look we want to show it all to you! Today is Beadoodles. We were first drawn in by the Golden Scroll Ring, but browsing around we've seen other things that we like, such as the Garnet Spiny Blooms Ring and the Golden Swirl Necklace.

Emily Elizabeth Jewelry is an Etsy store of handmade jewelry. The Lucky Four Leaf Clover Lariat was what pulled us in as it's quite unusual. We also really like the Brass Fern Leaf Bangle and the Leaf Pendant Necklace. Now that the holidays are over, buy something for yourself that you really want. This is a great place to start!

Have you noticed that Accessory Friday now includes almost anything except shirts? We've shown our readers a lot of jewelry this fall, so today we've found something different. Paper Planet has some amazing candle holders that we really want. According to their Etsy site, each one is handcrafted using "glass votive holders, semi-transparent handmade papers, and pressed naturals. Because both the handmade papers and the naturals used to create Earth Lights are unique, no two candle holders are alike." They sell out quickly, so instead of linking to our favorites which could be gone by the time you read this, just go to their store and look around. They also sell pretty bookmarks, jewelry, and more.
Thanks to Funky Finds!

Women really get the shaft when it comes to geeky gifts. Outside of ThinkGeek, where is a woman to buy funny and geeky things for herself? We've just found Made With Molecules, and we are thrilled to have discovered them! The designer is a scientist turned artist, and her pieces are both aesthetically pleasing and have functions that suggest a symbolic meaning. Some of our favorites at this store include the Science Bracelet, the Estrogen Necklace, the Chocolate Theobromine Molecule Earrings, and the Serotonin Necklace.

The Shirt Snob happened to come upon Starry Designs while browsing at Etsy, and we are quite impressed. They have birds nest design that they have placed on many different items that we adore. Some examples are the Oxidized Birds Nest Earrings, the Birds Nest Pendant, and the Birds Nest Ring. This store has other nice jewelry items as well.
