Leah Top by Rachel Pally

Split sleeves are not a feature we always love, but on the Leah Top by Rachel Pally it works very well, probably because the rest of the shirt is so simple. Available in black and white, this jersey top also has a boat neck, seam detail at the bust and back, and two inch banding at the bottom hem.

Red Lotus Clothing

Red Lotus Clothing is a relatively new t-shirt company that has a lot of organic tops. If you like organic but still want style, check them out. They also have mens shirts and a few pet items. Some of our favorites are the
Lotus Flower Sheer Crew, the Butterflies and Flowers Organic Scoop, and the Women's Organic Hoodie.

Barbry Top by Theory

We must be in the mood for simple black tops today. The Barbry Top by Theory is a pretty basic black blouse with banding at the wide neck, short sleeves, and inverted pleating at the bust and back. It looks comfortable and like the previous jacket can be work with many different bottoms.

Lidia Jacket by Theory

If you only buy one jacket in the next year, we think the Lidia Jacket by Theory is a good choice. It's so simple and elegant and can be paired with so much. We just love its versatility! It has a scoop neck, gathered elastic banding at the waist, a hidden snap closure at the front, 3/4 length sleeve, and is lined.

New Tees All Over!

Lots of t-shirt companies have new designs out. Here's a quick overview:

At Go Ape Shirts, there's a new design called While the Kids Are in Standby Mode.

There are nine new tees over at Threadless. Our favorites include I High Five Strangers, Victor Terrintop, Hummingbird and Snake, and Stupid Cupid.

At the Cotton Factory, we like Songbird and See You Later Space Invader out of their four new designs.

Finally, Busted Tees has two new ones that the Shirt Snob likes. They are Ask Me About Dinosaurs and United We Stand.

Shelby Top by Tricia Fix

If you liked yesterday's Vanessa Top, you will probably enjoy the Shelby Top by Tricia Fix too. It has a V-neck with twisted straps that cross in the back, a metallic strip of fabric that comes together in a tie at the back and creates a keyhole, and the print has metallic accents. It's a great top for warm weather, which will be here sooner rather than later we hope!

Johannna Top by Velvet

We think the Johannna Top by Velvet has a very unique design that we really like. It has a crossed bodice unlike any other we've seen. There's also a V-neck, rolled hems and cuffs, and shirring at the shoulders. It's available in black and tide.

Review: Crooked Monkey

Crooked Monkey was kind enough to send us another tee to review last week. You may remember that we reviewed them back in October of 2006. Since then, they've had a major xx of their website that we think looks great.

The tee we were sent was Spread the Love in medium. It's a cute design with a lot of hearts on it, so it's perfect for Valentine's Day coming up if you're into celebrating every holiday like we are. This tee is fitted and extra long, coming down to the lower part of our hips. It's a thinner material and quite stretchy, so it's really comfortable and soft. In fact, it's treated with natural enzymes to help make it so soft. The design looks great too. It has a slightly distressed look that we like, and it's really cute. There's also their signature Crooked Monkey icon on the back right shoulder. It held up great in our washing machine too!

Vanessa Top by Tricia Fix

Here is a halter top we'd take on vacation this winter (well, if we were going on vacation). The Vanessa Top by Tricia Fix has a spaghetti strap that ties behind the neck with silver beads attached to the ends, a low back with a tie and keyhole, a V-neck, an empire waist with elastic banding and slight ruching. Besides royal jewel, it's also available in four other prints: black jewel, pink and green carnation, black, purple peacock feather, blue and black, and ivory and blue.

Accessory Friday - Abigail A Percy Jewelry

Modish is one of the Shirt Snob's favorite blogs. We always find so many beautiful things on this blog. One that's really peaked our interest lately is Abigail A Percy. She makes very unique and beautiful jewelry, and we are drooling over a number of pieces. Our top picks are the Twist Pearl Stud Earrings, the Anemone Leaf Stud Earrings, the Sweet Horse Chestnut Outline Necklace, and the Pearl Ring Trio Set. We highly suggest you check out this designer. Tour Tube Top by LOVE YAYA

We've noticed a lot of tie dyed tops suddenly. Our favorite out of them all is the Tour Tube Top by LOVE YAYA. This tube top is ribbed, has smocking at the bust, vertical seam detail at the back, and elastic banding at the top hem. It's a fun look that we're excited to see back in stores!

Darla Top by Corey Lynn Calter

The Darla Top by Corey Lynn Calter is a little different, but we think it'd be fun to wear. It has a giraffe print, deep square neck with horizontal stripes and eyelet trim, and flutter sleeves. Besides coffee, it's also available in black.

New Tees at Snorg

Snorg Tees has two new designs, and the Shirt Snob likes them both. They are Sweet Dreams Are Made of Cheese and Love Hurts. One of our favorites, Wizards Do It With Wands, is also on sale.

Sunny Tank by C&C California

We just showed you a great one for the spring. Here's another C&C California top that makes us think of warm weather. The Sunny Tank really lives up to it's name. Two of the three colors it's available in (citrus, fresh, and white) really look sunny! This tank has a crossover V-neck, racer back, ruching at the empire waist, a balloon edge at the bottom hem, a lining, and 1/2 inch straps.

Jennifer Short Sleeve Top by C&C California

We're already starting to think ahead to spring here at Shirt Snob. We think that the Jennifer Short Sleeve Top by C&C California would be great. It's available in a couple cute spring colors (honeydew and mulberry, and faded black too), and it's lightweight and forgiving for those of you that indulged a bit this winter. This blouse has inverted pleated and ribbed banding at the wide neck, ribbed banding and ruching at the bottom hem, elastic banding at the cuffs, short sleeves, and it is semi-sheer.

Matte Jersey with Snake Detail by Roberto Cavalli

We recently showed you a top that incorporated the latest snake trend. Here's another. The Matte Jersey with Snake Detail by Roberto Cavalli has a golden serpent that winds through the center. There's ruching and gathering surrounding the snake, and there's also a deep V-neck and no sleeves. If you like snakes as much as we do, we think this would be a great one to have.

The Linen Smocked Baby Doll Camisole by Juicy Couture has a lot going on, yet it doesn't look busy at all. Instead it has nice clean lines, is girly, and is forgiving too. Made of 100% linen, it has ruffle trim and four buttons at the bust, smocked elastic banding and a tie at the back, ruching at the empire waist, thick pintucks and lace trim at the bottom hem, and lace trim at the spaghetti straps. It's also semi-sheer.

2 the Sky Top by Joie

We like the simple elegance of the 2 the Sky Top by Joie. This top has a metallic floral print, smocked elastic banding at the neck with ruffle trim, a surged bottom hem, adjustable spaghetti straps ,and it is semi-sheer. It is also available at Fashion Chateau under a slightly different name.

Catalina V Strap Top by Ella Moss

We sure are showing you a lot of white tops this week! Here's another, the Catalina V Strap Top by Ella Moss. This blouse has a hoop at the neckline with the straps coming from it in a V shape. They then go vertically back and attach to a tie. There's also an empire waist with smocking at the back and slight pleating at the waist.

As it's Monday, there are new designs over at Threadless. The Shirt Snob's favorites this week are ABCs, Darwin Kick, Arctic Spa, We Are Just Pixels After All, and the reprint Freedom Call.

Review: Retro Campaigns

The Shirt Snob is the lucky recipient of another tee to review, this time from Retro Campaigns. We'd never heard of this t-shirt company before, which is a shame because we really like what we see. Their shirts show unique characters from American politics of the past. They don't go too far back, but if you're in your 20s like we are, you may not know who Adlai Stevenson or George McGovern are. Therefore, you look cool and knowledgeable in their shirts! Considering that this is an election year and politics is in the news, we think this is a good time to buy from this company.

We were sent the Hole in the Shoe tee in a girly medium. Right off the bat we like this tee. It's a ringer tee, which is really enough to win us over immediately. But it's cute and looks comfy, and we think the saying is funny. Here's how it came about, thanks to the Retro Campaigns website:

Bold Jewels Silk Twill Top by Yoana Baraschi

We think the Bold Jewels Silk Twill Top by Yoana Baraschi is so great because the floral beading trim at the scoop neck really pops out, especially in the grey color. This top also has slight pleating at the front and back, a three inch hemline, and vertical tie bow straps at the back that adjust the neckline. It's available in black too.
