Switched Clothing has come out with some new tees. The Shirt Snob's favorites include Eagle Swallows and Unicorn. We did a review of Switched Clothing back in March, take a look!
June 29, 2007
Splendid's Tiny Stripe Top in grey and rouge is exactly what the Shirt Snob wants to wear when we're being super casual or hanging around the house. This henley has a V-neck with three buttons, 3/4 length sleeves, and mini stripes at the bodice. It looks really comfortable and perfect for lounging around.
June 28, 2007
The Shirt Snob is quite fond of the print on this next top, the Octopus Tank by C&C California. Black octopuses sprawl across a white background on this tank. There's also a scoop neck with banding, thin straps, and is quite fitted. It's great for layering as you can see by the picture!
Here's another that we can't believe we haven't written about yet! Go Ape Shirts is a tee company with a bunch of funny designs available in both men's and women's sizes. The tees are screen printed on American Apparel. We don't know much about the company from their website, so we don't know why they started or anything. However, they have so many tees that we like that we can forgive them. Some of our favorite designs include The Zombie of Oz, Elliot's New Friend, Reach For the Sky, and Oh Nooo.
Looking for an elegant cover up when you are wearing dressier clothes? Then Aubrey Cardigan by Elizabeth Gillett Ltd is perfect for you. It has a bow at the neck with hidden snaps to hold it together. Wear it to a wedding or other formal settings over your strappy dresses to stay warm!

Burnswell is a t-shirt company that has an interesting mix of designs. Some are rather artsy such as the Raven's Tee (available in chocolate and Kelly), others are more in tune with pop culture, like the Eleven tee, and then a few are just funny like the Robots of Sin . A few other designs we like include Not So Scary, Fleur, and World of Science.
This next top, the Mulberry Print Tank by Splendid, is quite unique because of the blue swirl and leaf print. It also has a V-neck with a V at the back, white banding at the neck, and ruching at the neck and back. Would look great with jeans or a dressier bottom!
Those of you who love T-Bags but don't always want such bold prints, the Solid V Neck Tank by T-Bags is for you. This long tunic has gathering and elastic banding at the empire waist, ruching at the bust and back, twisted straps, and an asymmetrical bottom hem. It's available in black, royal, and vanilla.

Busted Tees certainly has been busy! Besides the Dramatic Chipmuck tee available for preorder, they've also just come out with three other new tees! They are Shift Happens, Blimpin' Ain't Easy, and Yield to Snitchin'. Busted Tees is really starting to have a ton of great designs to choose from. We're glad they're still selling some good old favorites of ours in addition to all these great new ones!
Oddica has some new tees available this week. The Shirt Snob's favorites are the Orchestra Tank and the Robot vs. Bear Tee. We believe this is the first tank top being sold at Oddica. The design is printed on an American Apparel racer back tank that looks really comfortable.
The good people over at Tees My Body sent the Shirt Snob a tee for review. We were allowed to choose our own design, and after much thought decided on Ninjas Love Pirates. This is a new design for the ladies, and we think it's hysterical. We must say that Fight Milk Expiration is also a favorite design of theirs.
When we opened the package, the first thing we noticed was the the tee was larger than we thought it'd be. We had ordered a size large, and it's bigger than all the other larges that we've previous reviewed. This is actually quite refreshing to see. Most tee companies sell shirts that are not very forgiving. While we're sure that many of our readers have flat stomachs, we're also sure that some don't. And as someone who's still recovering a bit from a pregnancy, we like that these tees are a bit more of a looser fit. The tee is quite comfortable. It isn't baggy, but it's not too long or tight on the hips and is slightly stretchy. The tee is Hanes, which we've also never had before, but we like it. It is high quality with double stitching. The design is also printed very well. After washing the tee, it did shrink a bit. Before the washing, it was definitely too large for us, but afterwards, it fits quite well without hugging our belly. If you aren't sure of your size, we'd say order a size up.
We really enjoyed our interactions with the good people at Tees My Body. They have been very nice, accommodating, and helpful. The Shirt Snob thinks that this is a great company, and we really hope you buy some of their great designs. You won't be disappointed!
The Shirt Snob loves how cute and casual this next tank is. The Huntington Cami by Ella Moss is a long cami with a crossover bust, spaghetti straps, empire waist, and side pockets. You could wear it to a BBQ, the beach, a pool party, or anywhere else this summer.
Edited to add:
We've also found this top at Shop Bop in three other colors besides flamingo: grape, white, and zucchini.
We've discovered two tanks that are virtually identical and are great for layering, so we thought we'd show you them both. First up is the Very Light and Fashionable Jersey Tank by Splendid. Made from a cotton and modal mix, this top is semi-sheer with ruching at the bust and back, a round neck, and think straps. It's available in marine, sunflower, and white.
Next up is the Ava Tank by C&C California. This tank is 100% cotton with banding at the neck, back, and straps and ruching at the bust and back. It's available in five colors: black, kiwi, navy, lemon, and white. Both are almost identical in price too!
June 25, 2007
There are new tees at Threadless once again. Our top picks include Sakura Box, The Emergence of the Easter Egg, and the reprint Type Tee Pickles are Cucumbers Soaked in Evil. There's also new kids stuff as well.
Have you seen the Dramatic Chipmunk video circulating the web? I hadn't until I heard about the new Busted Tees shirt that is now available for preorder. The video is pretty funny, and if you want a shirt that commemorates it, this is it. The tee will ship on July 6, so be the first to have it!
We don't see many knit tops in the summer, but here's a cute one by Juicy Couture. The Scoopneck Tank is sheer with ruffle detailing at the scoop neckline, five buttons at the neck, and banding at the bottom hem. If you're looking for something a little different than the usual cotton and silk tanks, this is one to consider.
June 22, 2007
For Accessory Friday, we thought we'd focus on the head. We just discovered the Trisse Head Scarf, available in black and white and curry and white at Language, and we think it's adorable. It has an elastic band at the nape of the neck, so everything stays where it should and it's easy to take on and off. This is all concealed by the tie, so no one has to know! It's also 100% silk. And don't forget that you can use the discount "shirtsnob" at Language on this and all other non-sale items through the year.
The Linen Jersey Blocked Tunic at Max Studio is such a flirty top! It has ruffles, shirring and a hidden elastic at the empire waist, peek-a-boo trim above the bottom hem, fringe at the bottom hem, and a tie behind the neck. It's available in kermit and off-white.
The Spunk Top by LOVE YAYA isn't super spunky, but it's still quite pretty. It has a deep V-neck at the front and back, pleating and elastic banding at the empire waist, and a raw bottom hem. It's available in amethyst, midnight, and onyx.
June 21, 2007
We haven't been showing enough black tops on here recently, which is odd since it's one of our favorites! The Pam Halter Top by Rachel Pally has a deep V-neck, gathered detail at the empire waist and by the neck, an elastic at the waist, and a key hole below the waist. And best of all it's black, perfect for a night out on the town!
Vintage Cotton is a new t-shirt company that has funny designs on their tees. All are screen printed onto either American Apparel or Gildan (we'd never heard of them, but they make basic tees like American Apparel). Some of their designs we've seen before (Stewart/Colbert 08), but others are quite new to us. Our favorite designs include ADHD, Bayside Tigers, and Average Joe's Dodgeball. They have a lot of other funny designs that are only available in men's sizes, but hopefully soon they'll be released for women as well.
The Shirt Snob really likes the name of this top, the Polly Maggoo Top by Kate and Kass. This woven tank has it's seam at the bust with an inverted pleat down the front. It also has thick straps and is available in black, navy, and white.
June 20, 2007
Snorg Tees has a few new tees out, and we really like they are pretty funny. They are This is Why I'm Hot and Scrantonicity. Nerd humor and The Office joke, what could be better?
Actually, if you like that Juicy cardigan we just showed you, you may also like the Cami with Lace Trim by Juicy Couture as it is rather similar. It has lace trim at the top hem and straps, is semi sheer with cables going down the front, and pleating at the empire waist. You really don't see cables that often on lighter tops, so this is a nice change for the summer.
Light cardigans are such an easy and elegant way to stay warm if your evenings are cooler. We really think the Cardigan with Lace Trim by Juicy Couture is perfect. It has six buttons down the front, patch pockets, 3/4 sleeves, lace trim at the pockets, neck, and down the front, and it's semi-sheer.
The Shirt Snob is in the mood for hoodies. Here are two cute ones by Splendid. First up is the Rugby French Terry Hoodie Tunic. It has thick stripes, ribbed banding at the V-neck, elastic banding at ruching at the empire waist, surged edges at the bottom hem and cuffs and short dolman sleeves.
Then there's the Rugby French Terry Hoodie. This one is also striped but has a zipper closure down the front, pouch pockets at the front, ribbed banding at the bottom hem and cuffs and long sleeves. It's available in two colors too, mushroom and steel blue. Depending on what type of cover up you want, you have two cute hoodies to choose from!
June 19, 2007
There are three new tees available over at Busted Tees, and they are all pretty funny we think. They are Canada: America's Hat, I Foot Madlibs, and Finders Keepers. There's a few tees on sale over there too, so check them out!
Here's one by ingwa; melero that's a little more toned down than the designer's usual tops. The Jersey Bella Top has a scoop neck, a keyhole at the bust and empire waist all lined with cut out embroidered trim. There's also ruching at the neck and a tie at the back. It's very sexy and looks like a ton of fun to wear!
We really like this next top, the very sexy Jolie Halter Top by Susana Monaco. It has a deep neckline, ruching at the bust, large banding at the empire waist, and straps that tie behind the neck. It's available in black, bluefin, sugar, and java plum.
We really like the Slope Jacket by Vince because of how unique it looks. So many dressier jackets are boring, and this one certainly isn't. Made of a cashmere, alpaca and wool mixture, it has elbow length sleeves, a single button at the front, and is available in three colors: heather black, heather coastal (which looks just like heather black in our opinion), and heather coal.
June 18, 2007
There are another two new tees out at Random Shirts. We must say that we really like Bird Flight. It's also available in men's sizes too as always.
It's Monday, which means more Threadless tees came out. The Shirt Snob really likes Playground Love, Relax and Dream of Nothing, Original Gamester, and the reprints Musical Meditation and The Sound of Silents. And there are a few new designs for kids as well this week too.
The Shirt Snob's just discovered another awesome tee shop, Meat and Potatoes. They sell a bunch of cute girly tees. Some of our favorites include a bird in the _____. (yes, that's the name), bloom, mostly evil, and creeper. The site doesn't allow us to link to them individually, but definitely check them out! A portion of their sales are also donated to food charities here in the US, so you'll be supporting a great cause by supporting them!
The Strap Crossback Top by Susana Monaco has such a clean and fresh look that we can't get enough of. I has straps that cross at the back, a slight flare at the bottom, and is lined at the bodice. Hurry though because it's going quickly. As of writing this, it's available in black, midnight, lei, and sugar, but sugar is about to be gone!
We think the Camisole by Rag & Bone is very flattering. Made of 100% silk, it has contrast trim at the bodice, ruching at the empire waist, button details at the bust and four buttons at the back, a tie at the back, spaghetti straps and slits at the sides. It's available in pink and grey.
June 17, 2007
The Jesery Juliana Babydoll Top by Tufi Duek is quite an elegant tank. It has satin trim, deep V-neck, elastic empire waist with a tie, and ruching at the waist and straps. It'd work so well with jeans or a nice skirt!
June 16, 2007
The Eva Convertible Wrap Top by Karanin is great because you can wrap it and tie it however you'd like for lots of variety. It has inner belt loops, a long tie, pleating at the back of the neck, and long sleeves. We think it'd be a fun cover up this summer.
June 15, 2007
For Accessory Friday this week, we've found these cute bags by Mad Imports. The Fortaleza Bag would be perfect for a day at the beach. It is made of hand wrapped raffia disks so it's perfect for your beach towel, books, and a cover up. During the winter use it in your house to show off your crafts (yarn would look great it in) or as an accent piece. The bag is available in ocean, apple, and sunflower.
Our faithful readers know that we are big fans of Teetonic. The company has been kind enough to give us a coupon code just for all of you! Good between now and June 27, get 10% off all products when using the code "shirtsnob" at check out. As a refresher, we did a review of Teetonic almost a year ago, and we're still quite happy with our tee today!
The Shirt Snob certainly likes wraps. The DIY Light Wrap Top by Zoa is great because you can tie the sash where you'd like. It also has a V-neck, long sleeves so it's great for layering, and it's available in five different colors.
The Basic Aofe Camisole by Gold Hawk is awesome because it's so feminine and girly. Made of 100% silk, it has an empire waist, a V-neck lined with lace, bottom hem also lined with lace, and embroidered flowers throughout the bodice. You can dress it up or down, but you'll definitely feel like a lady wearing it!
June 14, 2007
The Jaclyn Tunic by Velvet is simple and very elegant. It has two inch banding at the cowl neck and bottom hem, one inch banding at the arms, no sleeves, and is 31 inches long. It's available in black and seaweed, which is quite an interesting color.
The Shirt Snob is not much of a geek, but the Shirt Snob husband could be considered by some to be. So we do have an appreciation for some more computer related humor out there. One site we really like is ThinkGeek. They have a bunch of funny t-shirts, many of which are available in women's sizes. You can show the world your intelligence or just support your significant other in his geekiness. We must admit that we don't understand a lot of the designs, but the ones we do get we think are quite funny.
The Shirt Snob thinks this camisole is so beautiful! The Gathered Cami Top by James Perse has knot and gather detail at the bust that is quite unique. There's also ruching at the back, thick straps that create a V at the back, a double layered bodice, and it's made out of bamboo which is surprisingly soft. It's available in black and white.
The Shirt Snob loves the print on this next top, the Dalie Silk Tunic by Velvet. It has a drawstring at the empire waist, short dolman sleeves, a rounded bottom hem, scoop neck, it is lined, and is 100% silk. Wear it dressed up or with skinny jeans, either way you'll look great!
June 13, 2007
The Shirt Snob just found out about a new online boutique, Language. Our readers in Chicago probably already know about this store as that's where their store is located. They have a bunch of great tops for sale, such as the Strapless Baby Doll Top by Ilana Moses and the Chambray Tube Top by Geren Ford. Also, exclusive for Shirt Snob readers, get 15% off all non-sale items at Language between now and the end of the year! Just use the coupon code "shirtsnob" at check out.
This next tank, the String Flare Top by Susana Monaco is very simple. But we love the colors and think it looks really comfy. It has a scooped back, flare at the bottom hem, spaghetti straps, and is lined at the bodice. It's available in three great colors too: bluefin, java plum, and reef.
Looking for patriotic colors for the 4th of July? Consider the Stripe Tank by Ella Moss. This top has a racer back, four buttons down the front, banding at the bottom hem, and cute red and white stripes. It's a great top for a BBQ!
There's a sale going on at Busted Tees. Get all their shirts at $13.99 now until June 17 at midnight. No code is needed, the prices are already reflected on their site.
The Color Block Camisole in Moonrock and Indigo by Gold Hawk is interesting because of the pretty embroidery down the front. Besides that, it's 100% silk, has small holes in the embroidery and at the seams, contrast banding at the seams in the same color as the embroidery, and adjustable straps. It looks comfortable and would look great with a cute jacket over it too.
June 12, 2007
New tees at Threadless are out, and we're quite pleased this week. We like H2O's Sacrifice, Pexe, Queen of Paradise, and the reprints This is Not a Pipe and mmmh.. Delicious. The company is also really upping their children's tees and onesies, so check that out too!
Random Shirts has a new site as well as some new tees. We really like Leaves, Godspeed, and Flying V Guitar. Also between now and June 17, get 20% off your order when using the code "RELAUNCH" at check out.
We just can't get enough of C&C California! The Sleeveless Hoodie Tunic so so cute and would be a perfect cover up when going to the beach. It has a V-neck with banding, ruching at the shoulders, a drawstring at the empire waist, slits at the sides, a hood, and no sleeves. It's available in faded black, lemon, and white.
We really like the summery colors of the Ruffle Top by Mara Hoffman. The green vine print throughout is quite unique! This halter also has ruffles along the V-neck, elastic banding right below the bust and at the natural waist, a tie behind the neck, and is 100% silk.
June 11, 2007
The Shirt Snob loves this next site, Unicorn Burger! First of all, who can resist the exclamation point in their name? But more importantly, they have cute designs. Right now, only three are available, but we hope they come up with more. Our favorite design is Murder, and the write up on this tee is so funny.
is he crying because his friend is dead, or because the released syn-propanethial-s- oxide has reacted with the water in his eyes to form dilute sulfuric acid? it's a mystery.
We just can't resist that! There's also Sweet Sweet Coffee (if you're ok with wearing a swear) and Goldilocks and the Two Bears. They also show more designs that are coming in a few weeks. Let's hope they hurry up!
We love all the colors that C&C California has. Lots of bright ones, but also the basic blacks too for those who don't like colors. The Thick Strap Tank is a prime example. This top has ribbed banding at the neck and straps, elastic banding at the empire waist, and straps that form a V in the back. It's available in black, faded black, marmalade, orchid, and zinc. Wear it alone or layer it for a totally different look.
The Peekaboo Jeweled Top by LaROK is so colorful and bright that it looks like a ton of fun to wear. This fitted silk halter has a V-neck, three rhinestone buttons at the bust, more rhinestones detailing the cut outs at the sides and back, a ruched band around the waist, and snap button closures. Since it stands out so much, you don't even need jewelry to look great!
June 10, 2007
June 9, 2007
The Shirt Snob has found a Sweat Pea gem at Bluefly. The Black Swirl Mesh V-Neck Top has a black and white (our favorite combination!) swirl print all over with a crossover split V-neck, no sleeves, and a large black ruched band at the waist. It's also available in other color combinations and prints, but this one is by far our favorite.
June 8, 2007
You may remember that we wrote about Tucker Paisley recently. The company was kind enough to send the Shirt Snob a card holder as a thank you, so we thought we'd review it here. We've decided to use it for our Mommy cards, but they can obviously be used for any cards that you may have. The one we received is cream with a red design. It is lined in red satin and is quite pretty.
The card holder fits about eight of our Mommy cards, but the cards are super thick so you'd be able to fit more of they're smaller. It's easy to get them in and out, one just needs to squeeze the sides a bit. The holder seems to be high quality with good seams, sturdy materials, and the Tucker Paisley logo right where it should be. We figure that each card holder is probably slightly different because of how the pattern ends up on the holder. But we just love the paisley design and the color combinations offered on their site.
The people at Tucker Paisley have also been wonderful. We've corresponded with them some, and they are friendly and helpful. We am very pleased with the card holder, and we would definitely buy from them again in the future. The Shirt Snob cannot recommend them enough!
LMNO Tees is a tee company that caters to the college crowd. They have some funny designs, such as It is OK to Stare, Jesus is my Gardener, and Where's Waldo. They donate 10% of their profits to charity (right now Free Wheelchair Mission) and they seem pretty committed to helping out the environment. We're impressed and think you should check them out.
It's been a while since we've shown you some crazy desisng from T-Bags. The Ruched Halter Top in white print and teal print has a V-neck, gather detail at the bust, an unfinished bottom hem, empire waist, and a tie behind the neck. We love these patterns, they are so much fun! You'll look like the life of the party in these tops.
June 7, 2007
The Metallic Top by Gold Hawk has amazing details, we think it's stunning. There is beading and pink and gold embroidery around the V-neck, flowers of beads and sequins below the bust, and the sleeves and bottom hem also have embroidery. It's also semi-sheer and has a tie at the back.
We love the design on this top, it's pretty and fun and probably one of our favorites we've seen in a long time. The Riva Silk Tank by Velvet is 100% silk, semi-sheer, and wrinkled with an empire waist, ruching at the bust, scoop neck, and thick straps. It's available in two colors, grape and navy.
The Shirt Snob could have sworn we'd written about The Red Prairie in the past, but we can't find any mention of them in our archives. Better late than never we guess! This company is basically run by one woman out of her house in Baltimore. She has some amazing designs, some of our favorites including purple marsh, illumination by the yard, and a pleasant little dream. They also sell men's tees, children's clothes, and a few totes too.
June 6, 2007
Many of us still have to work during the summer, and we need clothes that look professional. We think the Calandra Sweater by Theory is a great option. It has ribbed banding at the scoop neck, bottom hem, and cuffs, vertical seam detail at the front and back, and short sleeves. It's available in billiard and light heather.
The Inez Top by Ella Moss is very girly and innocent looking. It is semi-sheer with shadow stripes throughout, a keyhole and single button at the neck, solid yoke at the shoulders, and two buttons at the short puff sleeves. It's available in cobalt and white.
We just found sharon spain textiles, a company that sells a bunch of stuff, including a few really cute t-shirts. They only have one design, which is available in four colors, but we really like it and hope they design others in the future. The shirt has a boat neck top and 3/4 length sleeves, and it's available in four colors: lavender, brown, grass, and light blue.
June 5, 2007
There are new tees all over the place, so we thought we'd combine them all into one post. First up is Festa Stuff. They've added new areas like Cape Cod, the Hamptons, and other places we've never heard of. We also love the design of their new Midwestern Girl tee.
Now, the Shirt Snob doesn't watch CSI: Miami, but we do watch The Soup make fun of David Caruso every week. Therefore, we love the new Caruso tee over at Tees My Body. Ninjas Love Pirates is also available in women's sizes now too!
Finally, Busted Tees has three new designs out. We really like This is Why I'm Hot and That's How I Roll the best.
The Strip Bow Back Tank in White by Bailey 44 looks pretty simple in the front. However, you must look at the back to get a good idea of this top. The back has a bow shape, showing off a great deal of skin. It also has thick straps and black, grey, and silver stripes throughout.
This long tube top is simple yet so elegant. The Scrunch Tube Tunic by C&C California has verticle drawstrings at the sides, so you don't have to worry about slippage. It has an empire waist, elastic banding at the top hem, and is available in lemon, marmalade, and white.
The Shirt Snob loves hoodies. There's nothing more easy than just throwing one on over what you're wearing. But obviously you want to still look cute. We love the Hank Oversized Hoodie by Mike & Chris because it's casual and yet great looking. It has a zipper closure at the front, front pockets, ribbed banding at the bottom hem, pockets, and cuffs, and has 3/4 length sleeves. It's available in stone and vine.
June 4, 2007
Threadless decided to extend their sale through today. This is your last chance to get all their tees at $10 until their next sale, and who knows what will be available then?
All our faithful readers know we can't get enough of Ella Moss. Here's another beauty by her. The Magnolia Square Neck Top has a square neck with pretty lace trim, pleating at the bust and back, and short sleeves. It's available in red and sea blue.
The Kerrigan Burnout Dot Top by C&C California is so adorable! We love polka dots! It has a V-neck, cross over bust, gathering at the empire waist, short sleeves, and falls past the hips. It's available in faded black and patina.
Teetonic added some new tees that were specifically made for the Six Cities Design Festival. Some of these new tees include designs by d8, Zandra Rhodes and Timorous Beasties. We've never heard of any of these designers, but as this is Scotland, maybe they are big over there. Either way, take a look, there's some cute designs. Also check out a review we did of Teetonic last summer.
June 3, 2007
The Shirt Snob loves polka dots! The Polka Dot Chiffon Trim Camisole by Cynthia Steffe at Bluefly has white dots on a brown back ground with ruffled chiffon trim at the neck, a tie at the center of the neck, velvet trim straps with flower button detail, and lace trim under the bust at the empire waist. It's super cute and very flirty!
June 2, 2007
The Shirt Snob loves the light yellow color of this next top, the Beaded Chiffon Babydoll Cami by Rebecca Taylor at Bluefly. This sheer cami is made of 100% silk, has adjustable straps, elastic smocking at the back, is fully lined, and has floral beading at the V-neck. It's very pretty and very feminine, and best of all it's quite a steal!
June 1, 2007
You'd be hard pressed to find a more romantic look than with the Solid Silk Cotton Voile Sleeve Top at Max Studio. It has baby ruffles, princess sleeves, an empire waist, scoop neck, and is funny lined with a detachable silk camisole. You could wear this top for so many occasions and with so many bottoms, we just love it!
Here's a great beach cover up! The Pin Tuck Top by Rebecca Taylor has pintucking at the shoulders, ruching at the bust, back, and cuffs, a single button at the split V-neck, and 3/4 length sleeves. It's available in black and white.
You know that the Shirt Snob loves these double layered tops, so we're of course super excited about this one too. The Gauze Double Short Sleeve Tee by Vince has top stitching at the scoop neck, cuffs and bottom hem, short sleeves, and is of course double layered. It's available in heather grey, white, and coastal. You may also like the Gauze Double Long Sleeve Tee too.
