The Shirt Snob is just blown away that we haven't written about this next t-shirt company yet. Waterloo wants you "to have unique retro, vintage designs of cool rock bands, classic movies, cartoons, with the exclusive Waterloo style." Sounds pretty good to us! We really like that each design is available for both men and women, some even in a tank variety. Our favorites are Led Zeppelin, Willy Wonka, and their logo tee.

Here's a fun one from Ella Moss that you can wear to the beach if you're lucky enough to go somewhere warm on vacation this winter. The Havana Cami with Wood Beads has solid banded insets at the bodice, wood bead accents at the straps, and come to the bottom of your hips. We like the floral design of this top. It also comes in peacock as well as in a dress and the print in a peasant blouse.

There are new tees at Threadless this week, many with a Valentine's Day theme. We really like Paper Airplanes, A Choice You Need To Make, Secret Love, Sex Sells, and the reprint My Pet Human. Also, if you buy two tees of the same design, no matter what the sizes, you get $10 off. Not as good as their $10 sales, but it's a pretty good deal!

Next up is the Silk Ciccada Top by Catherine Malandrino. This one is 100% silk with 100% cotton trim (opposite of her last top!) with cutout circle details at the V-neck. There is ruching at the bust, pin tucking at the back, a hidden zipper at the side, is lined, and the straps cross at the back. If you like this top, you may also like the Silk Ciccada Dress.
Let's make today a Catherine Malandrino day as we've found two new ones by her that are very cute. The first is the Wide Sleeve Blouse. This top is 100% cotton with 100% silk banding at the V-neck and yoke at the waist. There's pleating at the bust and waist, pin tucking at the yoke, and Swiss dots throughout. It is lined, has short sleeves, and there is a hidden side zipper as well. Available in blanc and noir.
January 29, 2007
We really like this next top, the Robin Sweater by Marc by Marc Jacobs, because it reminds us of one we had years ago that we just adored. This sweater has short sleeves, a boat neck, banding at the neck, bottom hem, and cuffs, and there are stripes at the front and ribbing but no stripes at the back. We think this would be a great sweater for the spring. If only the warm weather would get here soon!
The Shirt Snob just discovered Harrilu while browsing at Etsy, and we think this designer has a bunch of cute t-shirts. We really like the Poppy Tee, the Birds and Swirls Tee (also in brown with long sleeves), and the Botah Flower Tee. Consider supporting an independent designer like Harrilu at Etsy, there's a ton of other great ones.

Get up to 75% off at Pink Mascara during their end of the season sale. No code needed, just get over there and shop!
The Shirt Snob has just discovered Eugenia Kim hats, and we adore them. There are the Muffy Mini Stripe Equestrian Cap, the Muffy Velvet Equestrian Cap, the Muffy Plaid Cap with No Band, and the Muffy Herringbone Cap. They come in different fabrics (wool, velvet) as well as with or without a band across the top. And each has a brim and is lined. We think they look like they'd be really fun to wear and can really add personality to whatever outfit you're wearing.
Looking for something different, beautiful, and comfortable all in one? We like the Kimono by Gold Hawk. This top is 100% silk, has a gorgeous floral print with pinstripes and ties at the waist. Available in raven black and nutmeg. If you like the print, you may like a camisole version as well.
January 25, 2007
We realize this next top is a little different than what we would normally like. But the Shirt Snob just loves this look. The Striped Hoodie by LaRok is a sleeveless cardigan made from a cotton and cashmere blend with verticle, multi colored stripes, a hood, a braided belt around the waist, and a long fit. If you want the top underneath as well (since they seem to go so well together), it's the Molly Top, also by LaRok.
VanRockn Apparel is a t-shirt company out of Ohio that started in 2006. They focus on the funny shirts like what you'd see at Tee Dorm, full of college humor. We really like some of them, such as Toasted, Smoking Stinks, and Stalker. All their tees are printed on American Apparel, and they sell men's shirts as well.
January 24, 2007
The Alice Top by Karanina is a very feminine look that we just love. The polka dot print is unusual and quite pretty, and the blouse also has crochet trim along the deep V-neck and a tie in the back so you can make it as tight as you'd like. It is available in garnet jitterbug as well.
Here's a cute and casual cashmere sweater that would be great to pair with your favorite jeans. The Cashmere Ribbed Sleeve V Neck by Vince has a deep, crossover V-neck, over six inches of banding at the bottom hem, and long sleeves. It's available in marshmallow, black, and heather steel. This would be the perfect sweater to wear while curled up in front of the fireplace this winter!
January 23, 2007
Snorg Tees has a few new tees in stock. We really like Go Go Gadget and Meat is Neat. But don't forget to check out all their shirts, this is one of our favorite tee companies!
The Shirt Snob is a big fan of Catherine Malandrino, so we were thrilled to discover her Polka Dot Camisole. This lined top has a 100% cotton shell with a 100% silk yoke. There's a V-neck, an empire waist, contrast stitching and piping at the yoke and pleating at the bust and waist. A hidden zipper is at the side as well.
The Shirt Snob really likes Switched Clothing, a t-shirt site out of Seattle that we just discovered. They have some beautiful designs, like Body Vinyl and Terra Twilight as well as some funnier ones like Dangerous Killer. All of them are also printed on American Apparel too. We only wish that we could see actual pictures of the shirts instead of just the designs.
January 22, 2007
It's a big day for new shirts! Threadless has a bunch as well. We really like Home Sweet Home, Limb, Freedom Call, and the reprint Bunnies.
Dirty Microbe has a new tee out as well, and we find it hysterical. No One Reads Your Crappy Blog is great because there are certainly a lot of personal blogs out there that are boring to everyone except the author. These people check their stats many times a day and seem to focus on getting new readers instead of just writing good posts. So this is a great shirt for them.
We recently discovered Brown Turtle, and we'd like to introduce them to all of you. They sell t-shirts, and some of them are quite funny. Our favorites include Olive You, Boyscouting, and Hug Dealer. Unfortunately, their website says nothing about who the company is made up or, what their philosophy is, why they make shirts, etc, so we can't tell you much about them. But if you like places like Busted Tees, you may like Brown Turtle as well.
Busted Tees has new shirts out. They are I Choo Choo Choose You, perfect for Valentine's Day (it's a Simpson's reference for those of you who don't get it), and Wyoming: Who Cares? Sort of sad for the few people who actually live there, but funny to the rest of us.
Happy Monday readers! We want to start off the week with a stunning blouse, the Rio Flutter Wrap Top by Lotta Stensson. It has copper sequin and bead detailing along the deep V-neck, arms, and upper back, and the tie at the waist is long enough to tie multiple times. The blouse is also long, hanging at the bottom of the hips. It's available in peacock and black.
January 19, 2007
If you are in a relationship, you are probably going to be celebrating Valentine's Day. We think that for Accessory Friday this week we'd show you something fun to celebrate the holiday, Valentine's Conversational Heart Panties by Juicy. These cotton boy shorts have a heart detail on each pair and each says one of the following phrases: Kiss My Couture, I Love Juicy, and Live For Sugar.
Tricia Fix has some really cute tank tops that we really love, each with a different, fun print. They have a triangle cut bust, satin trim at the neck and straps, an adjustable lace up strap at the back, and an empire waist. The available prints are black spring, red elephant, and orange zebra. There is also a dress version of red elephant, orange zebra, and black spring as well in case you like these prints.
January 18, 2007
The Ryde is a t-shirt company started by two guys in California who are "focused on producing great t-shirts that make people smile." We think they are doing a good job, as their shirts are pretty and funny. Our top picks include Drink and Dial, For the Birds, and Bird Girls. They also sell mens' and babies' tees.
Some parts of the country may be warm, but winter has finally hit the northeast! So what we'd love right now is the Warmth Penelope Cardigan by Theory. Made from a wool and cashmere blend, this hooded sweater has cable trim at the hood and front, ribbed banding at the bottom hem and cuffs, wide and long sleeves, and a safety pin closure at the top. We think there would be nothing better to wear to keep you warm while still looking stunning!
January 17, 2007
The Sheer Cap Tank by Gold Hawk is so elegant and beautiful, and would look great either with a cute skirt or with your favorite pair of jeans. This 100% silk top has a V-neck, an empire waist with gathering at the waist, and sheer ruffle detailing at the adjustble straps. It is available in three colors: porceline blue, oyster, and raven.
Antix is a t-shirt company that reminds the Shirt Snob of Busted Tees. They sell both mens' and womens' tees. Some of our favorites include Rebellious Message, Dick, and Childhood Hero: Doogie. The company designs and prints all their tees themselves, mostly on American Apparel, and they also have a MySpace page.
January 16, 2007
This next top we just love because the print is so much fun with such great colors! The Arm Tie Top by T Bags has a scoop neck, elastic banding and ruching at the top, 3/4 sleeves with ties, and an unfinished bottom hem. This print is also available in a dress as well.
Sometimes the Shirt Snob wonders if she's living in a cave. All these t-shirt companies are out there that we just don't know about. And some of them are pretty cool. Here's yet another one we just discovered, American Pig Brand. We aren't super in love with their name, but they have some really cool tees, such as Windowpane Cutout Tee, Cherry Blossom Tee, Cherry Blossom Twofer Top, and True Vision 3/4 Sleeve Tee. American Pig Brand also sells men's tees, hats, and accessories.

Shop Bop added a ton of items to their current sale. You can find a bunch of great deals, such as the Long V Neck Sweater by Vince and the Salsa X Back Top by Susana Monaco, which is available in nine colors and is only $43.
One of our readers was kind enough to tell us about Noisebot, a t-shirt company that gives you a ton of options for their designs. You can put them on a huge number of sizes of tees for both men and women and youth as well as hoodies and bags. And there's a bunch of different colors for your tees as well. We love all the variety, especially because the designs are pretty awesome too. Our top picks include Plato, Paper Beats Rock, MySpace Celebrity, and Don't Hassle Me I'm Local (which the Shirt Snob will probably buy for all of her hometown friends). We think the Shirt Snob has found a few favorite t-shirt site!
We just love eyelet tops, so when we discovered the Eyelet Belle Wrap Top by Diane von Furstenberg, we knew we had to tell our readers about it. Made of 100% cotton, this lined wrap top has a fold over collar, french cuffs, eyelet detail throughout, a tie at the waist, and semi-sheer short sleeves. It's perfect for your upcoming vacation to warmer climates! Also available in a dress version.

When the Shirt Snob discovered this next website, we almost freaked out. Who doesn't love Harry Potter? Republicans for Voldemort comes from a comic strip Goats that we'd never heard of before. But really, we can get behind anything Harry Potter related. This design comes in many different forms, including a baby doll, an American Apparel version, men's tees, bumper stickers, a baby onesie, and even bags. So if you want to show a little HP pride, consider this as an option!
The Shirt Snob has just discovered some bags that remind us of when we were little. Goodmorning, morning! makes all sorts of handbags, such as bookbags, gathered bags, scalloped bags, quilted purses, and more. Each item is handmade, and they are made using recycled vintage household textiles, which is what we love about them. Some of our favorites include the Brown Apple Bookbag, the Green Floral Patch Flap Purse, the Blue Floral Scalloped Bag, and the Red Tulip Birdie Pouch.
January 11, 2007
We've mentioned before that we love black and white combos. Here's another that we are coveting, the Long Cami by Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent. As the name implies, this camisole is long, and it has a V-neck, smocked banding at the waist, spaghetti straps, and it's 100% silk. It's also available in plain black, purple, red, rose, and taupe as well as in a dress.
The Shirt Snob just discovered Otsu Tree, a t-shirt company that has some very nice designs. We really like the designs Pillow Fight, Bazooka, and Hodge Podge. You can buy these designs on their website or at Etsy. They also sell men's tees as well.
January 10, 2007
Another week, another bunch of Threadless tees. We like Summer's Passing, Pet Octopus, Bad Seed, and the reprint Threadless (even though it's a bit of a walking advertisement). Threadless is also available in a hoodie as well.
Here's yet another t-shirt website that we somehow have missed all this time! Tee Dorm, as the name probably makes obvious, is a tee company who caters to the college crowd. They have some funny designs, such as Beer Blind, I Stalk You, and I'm Like a Workaholic. The company was just started this summer by a few guys as a side job to their 9-5 jobs. Don't worry though, they use professional screen printers. They also have a MySpace page.
Here's a hot one from LOVE from Ya-Ya, the Amore Luxe Top. This halter top has four braided strands as straps with knot detail above the bust. There's also two inch banding at the empire waist as well as ruching at the bust and leading down from the waist. If you're lucky enough to go somewhere warm this winter and want to look sexy, this is definitely the top for you.

As we promised earlier, we are lucky enough to be able to do a review of Dirty Microbe. They sent us two t-shirts, one for the Shirt Snob and one for the Shirt Snob husband as well. The Shirt Snob chose to review Comunitty Collige and the hubby chose Toast.
First things first, our order arrived very quickly, within a few days. We were mightily impressed by this as this order was placed the week before Christmas, so we're sure they were very busy at the Dirty Microbe headquarters.
Their tee is comfy in your typical t-shirt way. It fits as we thought a large would, although it is a little bit longer than others we've recently reviewed. we guess we'd say it's a bit more of a casual fit, not hugging the stomach, yet still definitely a girly tee, not unisex. The design is great. It's very even, high quality, and there isn't an imperfection anywhere.
Here's what the Shirt Snob husband thought about his tee:
I received "We're Toast" from Dirty Microbe. The shirt is 100% cotton and printed on American Apparel. This is the first time, at least to my knowledge, that I've had an American Apparel shirt. I usually fit very comfortably into a size large, and this shirt is no exception. At first, it seemed a little long, but I quickly got used to this. In fact, my shirts usually shrink by growing shorter, so overall this is probably a good thing. The shirt is a really vibrant blue. And even after a few washings the color is holding up nicely. The one drawback, however, is the caption. It reads, "Shit. We're Toast." While this is a funny sentiment, its not exactly work attire. So this very comfortable shirt will have to remain a weekends and evenings only shirt for the time being. But I chose the design, so I really can't complain.
Dirty Microbe tees are printed on American Apparel, and they print all of their tees themselves. That means they can attest to the quality of their prints, and they say that the prints will last longer than the tees will.
Edited to add 7-24-07:
Please read this post before purchasing anything from Dirty Microbe.
Here's another cute one from Ella Moss. The Newport Stripe Cami has spaghetti straps, an empire waist, V-neck with contrast banding at the neck, gathering and pleating down the center, and two small pockets on the hips. It's very similar to the Striped Hoodie we showed you on Friday. Also available in black and red.

is another t-shirt company that caters to the college crowd. As the Shirt Snob still hasn't really grown up yet, we like a lot of their designs. We don't understand a lot too, but that's ok. Our favorites include I
Heart Cuss Words
. They also sell men's
as well. We'll be doing a review of them soon, so keep a look out for that!
Looking for something comfy that isn't a t-shirt? We like Splendid's 1X1 Mini Stripe Long Sleeve Tie Hoodie. This hoodie has a deep V-neck, empire waist with a tie, long sleeves, thin stripes, and solid lining at the hood. It's available in army and electric blue. You may also like the 1X1 Mini Stripe Tank Top, also by Splendid.

Tiny Marie is an independent design studio that makes jewelry and handbags as well as other accessories. Everything is one of a kind, and once it's sold, it's gone. We like the idea of having something totally unique, and we really like the items sold here, especially the bags. Some of our favorites include the Gia Mini Wristlet, the Carly Wristlet, and the Ava Clutch.
Ella Moss loves stripes, and here's a new top of theirs that we love as well. The Striped Hoodie has a deep V-neck, a contrasting band with a drawstring at the empire waist, a hood, and slight pleating and gathering in the front. Wear it with a cute top underneath for a really cute look. Also available in green and black/white.
January 4, 2007
Here's a new one from Lotta Stensson that we adore. The Silky Romance Top is 100% silk with a deep V-neck, a low cut back, floral hand embroidery and lace detail along the neck, empire waist, and bottom hem, and a tie in the back. It's beautiful, and we think you'd be hard pressed not to find a little romance when wearing it.
January 3, 2007
Here's a cute blouse, the Daisy Pointelle Flouncy Tunic by Free People. This crocheted top has eight buttons at the neck that can be buttoned up or left open, a tie at the top of the neck, ties at the wrists, and floral ribbon accents along the blouse and at the ties. Wear over a cami for a really cute look.
The Shirt Snob recently discovered Dirty Coast, a t-shirt company working out of New Orleans, and we are very excited to share them with you. They started after a few people decided there needed to be tees about New Orleans available for people. That changed shortly after they started when Hurricane Katrina hit, but they kept rolling and have some wonderful designs. All their shirts are printed on American Apparel and are printed after you order them. Most of them are available in both women's and men's sizes. Now as we are not from New Orleans and unfortunately have never been there, we don't really understand all the designs. That being said, our favorites are probably Live with Live Music, 50 Cents a Stick, Greatna, and I Am New Orleans.

Festa Stuff, whom we wrote about last August, was kind enough to send us a tee for review. As you know, we love tees, so we were thrilled to do it. Festa Stuff has tees for everyone you know, in the US at least. Every region has something, with certain big states and cities lucky enough to have their own designs. There's also tees for the Festa Girl as well as baby clothing. As the Shirt Snob is soon leaving the North East and moving to the south, we chose the New England Girl tee. We want everyone to know how much we love it up here after all, even if the housing prices are awful!
The first thing we noticed when we put this tee on is how soft and comfortable it is. We realize that all tees are comfortable, but this one especially is. It is stretchy and form fitting, but not super clingy to your body. The length is also perfect, coming just below the middle of our hips. The fit is perfect for a woman, and we love it.
Another thing we really like is that although the neck is high, it's also very stretchy, so we don't feel like we're being choked. We know this is a little silly, but sometimes tees with high necks are a little too tight.
The design also came out looking great. It looks just like the picture on the website, clean and well done. All of Festa Stuff's designs are wholesome. They are tees you can wear in front of your grandparents without worrying about them being insulted or disgusted by them. After all, there are tons of websites that sell those types of tees, so in being wholesome they are actually being different!
The customer service at Festa Stuff is wonderful. They were more than willing to help us out, answer any questions, and provide us with the best possible service that they could. We cannot recommend them enough, they are a great company with high quality tees with fun designs.

Happy New Year readers! We hope you all have a safe and fun holiday and the upcoming year brings you joy and prosperity. The Shirt Snob is excited with all that the upcoming year brings. Let's start things off right with a cute top by Grey Ant, the Sweetheart Blouse. This top has a fishnet pattern on the thin mauve cotton, a sweetheart neckline, sleeves that end just after the elbow, raw edges, contrasting rib cotton at the shoulders, and five buttons up the front. It looks like a modern take on a 50s housewife to us. Best part is it's gone on sale since we first discovered it right before the holidays!
