For Accessory Friday this week, we're now moving away from shoes into yet another first for us, stationary! Specifically, thank you notes. We all know that you must send thank you notes for all the gifts you receive. Many people, however, are becoming less formal, writing email thank you notes or just skipping them entirely. And this is a shame, especially when you could be writing your note on the prettiest note cards around. Storybook sells 15 different styles of thank you cards, each classy and stylish. Our favorites are Sophia, Paige, and Nicole, but they are all beautiful. The company also offers to write your thank you notes for you. The recipient of the card may notice the handwriting isn't your own we think. But if you are not good with writing them or are too busy, this is an option for you as well.

We love the print of this next top, the Sleeveless Patterned Button Corset by Free People. It has a button placket up the front, ribbon inside the collar, lace and patches with eyelet detailing on the shoulders, and little bows at the waist. Besides brown daisy, it also comes in pink rose and mushroom flower.
September 28, 2006
There are two new tees at Busted Tees right now, and we actually like both of them. The first is Sparrow is My Co-Pirate, which we like because we loved Pirates of the Caribbean (unfortunately, the Shirt Snob is the only person in the country who hasn't seen the second movie yet), and we all know how big skulls are right now. The other is Ya Herd which is cute, and who doesn't love sheep?

If you are looking for something romantic, you might like the Cotton Embroidery Top by Lauren Moffatt. Made of 100% cotton, it is semi-sheer with embroidery detail at the bust, shoulders, and body, pintucking and lace trim throughout, banding at the waist, a scoop neck, 3/4 length sleeves, and six snap closures at the side. You couldn't help but feel pretty wearing this!
September 28, 2006
We love wrap tops. They work so well with so many different bottoms, and they are fun to wear too. Here is the Wrap Top by Rachel Pally. It has a deep V-neck, unfinished edges, long sleeves, and the tie at the waist. It comes in six colors that are great for fall.
September 27, 2006
Once again, there are new tees at Threadless. We are more impressed than last week. Our favorites are the winner of the Wired NextFest Loves Threadless contest City Lights, Breaking the Sound of Music, and the reprints Vegetarians are Eating the Rain Forests and What Would Macgyver Do? We like Paper Tiger too, but we're not so keen on the colors chosen. But the reprints make up for it all as they are two of our absolute favorites!
Looking for something a little fun as the weather starts getting colder? Consider the Folklore 3/4 Sleeve Blouse with Pom Pom by Charlotte Ronson. This knit top has ruffle trim at the collar, a keyhold with a tie at the neck, 3/4 sleeves, and contrast yoke at the shoulders. But what really makes this top are the pom poms at the ends of the tie. Personally, the Shirt Snob would love to wear this as we'd love to play with the pom poms all day. If you like this, you may also like the Vest with Pom Pom Tie, also by Charlotte Ronson.
The Shirt Snob is thrilled to find another favorite from ingwa; melero. This time it's the Lirio Top. Made of 100% silk charmeuse, this beauty has a V-neck, an empire waist, ruching at the bust, intricate flower detailing below the waist that continues to the back, and a ties behind the neck. Comes in four colors, lavender (which is on sale!), coral, black, and blush.
September 26, 2006
What a great idea to combine the graphic tee with a henley! The Henley Graphic Hoodie by Free People is one of our new favorites! It has a hood, buttoned V-neck placket, cotton twill drawstring at the hood, and ribbed cuffs and waistband. It comes in three colors, red, olive, and chimney sweep, and each has a different graphic on it!
The Shirt Snob loves polka dots, so we can't get enough of this next top, Sweetness Polka Dot by Joie. It has pleating at the front and back, ruching and lace banding at the bust, an empire waist, adjustable spaghetti straps, six buttons on the side, and a lining that is visible at the bottom. You'll definitely look sweet in this beauty!

Here's another simple one that we just love. The Caftan Top by Rachel Pally has a deep V-neck, ruching at the shoulders, ruching at the empire waist, and a tie at the waist as well. It has unfinished edges and 3/4 length flutter sleeves which we just love. It can also be worn as a mini dress, and it comes in nine different colors.
Happy Monday readers! We're going to start the week off with a simple, yet adorable cotton blouse, the Pamela Top by C&C California. It has a keyhole with a button at the V-neck, ruching at the shoulders and elastic banding at the long sleeves. We really love the keyhole, it's small enough so it isn't trashy, but it makes the top look so feminine! The Pamela Top comes in seven colors, so buy a few as these could quickly become staples of your wardrobe!

The Shirt Snob has been meaning to write about two of our advertisers for a while now, and because we get caught up in life, we have forgotten. So we're going to do it now before we forget (shocking to find us posting on a weekend, isn't it!). First up is Vintage Edge. They sell both men's and women's tees, and although not all the designs are listed on the girly side doesn't mean they aren't available. You can special order any of the designs in a variety of colors. And that's one of our favorite things about this site, they offer their tees on many different colors. As we believe we've said before, that's one of our biggest issues with Threadless. We always like the design that's on the bright yellow tee, not exactly a good color for the Shirt Snob. Our favorite designs from Vintage Edge are Wally's Whale Tour, Vermont, and Cape Cod. Unfortunately, we just missed a sale of theirs, but we promise to let you know the next time they have one!

Our other wonderful advertiser at the moment is Odditeaz. We love the name, and they also have designs that we really like. They have a great variety of styles of tees. For women, they sell tanks, 3/4 length tees, V-necks, and regular tees. Our favorites include Free Rainbow, Creative Freedom, Embrace Chaos, and Nuture Absurdity. They also sell men's tees and hats, and they also have a blog.
We thank these two great sites for their support!

Here's a stunning blouse to finish off the week. The Deep V Lace Trim Cami by Miguelina Michelle is mostly silk, has a deep V-neck, velvet trim around the empire waist, lace trim detail at the neckline and down the front, a rhinestone circle adornment at the front at the waist, slight ruching at the bust, and a side zipper.
We love headbands right now. They work so well at keeping our hair out of our babies hands and look so much nicer and are so much easier than pulling back our hair. So for Accessory Friday this week, we are going to show you some of our favorites! For something simple and classic, there's the Silk Headbands that come in nine colors (and notice how Heidi Klum wears them!). For a fun, floral print, consider the Floral Crochet Headbands by Cara Couture. If you are into skulls, there's the Silk Skull Print Headbands. The Shirt Snob's favorites are defintely the Tulip Print Silk Headbands. They are fun, a little retro, and perfect for fall!
September 21, 2006
Here's a very versitile top that would go great with a variety of different bottoms. The Cashmere Annabella Wrap by Velvet is 100% Italian cashmere. It is sleeveless, has a small tie that can be placed in the front or side, has a deep V-neck, and the front falls slightly farther down than the back. Comes in two colors, heather grey and chocolate.
The Shirt Snob loves the layered look, so we really like this next top, the Double Layered Contrast Triangle Top by T Bags. This halter looks like you're really wearing two tops. It has two braided spaghetti straps that tie in the back, an empire waist, and ruching at the waist. It's sexy and fun and we love it!
September 20, 2006
Threadless has new tees this week, and honestly, we aren't really feeling them. The only one we really like is Narwhal: The Unicorn of the Sea. I guess we are a Shirt Snob at the moment!
The Shirt Snob was lucky enough to be sent a tee from Colin Maguire. They make tees for toddlers, sized 18-24 months through 5T. Right now they sell long sleeved layered looking tees perfect for fall as well as short sleeved tees too.
The tee we received is the All-American Toddler Team design. And we must say right off the bat we love it! Quickly after giving birth, the Shirt Snob realized that our little one looks adorable in this layered look, and our faithful readers will remember that we love the ringer tee look, which this has as well. The contrast banding around the neck has a frayed look. It's well made, well printed, and we cannot wait to start using it (Anderson is a little small for it still).
The best part of Colin Maguire's site is that all the designs are made by children who are residing at The Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health. They provide the latest treatment options for critically ill children and offers a place like home for both the children and their families. Colin Maguire supports the Inn financially (10% of the profits of each t-shirt goes to the Children's Inn) as well as helps to share the spirit of these children and their loved ones.
All the tees are made of 100% cotton, and they launch a new design every month. Each tee comes with an "About the Artist" hangtag. The one we received was designed by Sara. She came to the NIH from Iraq and chose to draw an eagle because it reminds her of America, where she now resides.
We think this is a wonderful cause and the tees are great too, so we highly recommend them to you all.
As we've mentioned in the past, we love plaid. Here is another cute plaid top that isn't so country. Unfortunately the site we found it on doesn't tell us what it's called, but it's a halter and it's by LaROK. There are ties on either side to create a bubble bottom, it's 100% silk, has a keyhole in the neck and empire waist, and it ties behind the neck. The plaid consists of green, reddish brown, tan blue, and orange colors. If you love to dress up for fall as much as we do, this is a great top to choose! Also comes in a darker plaid, but we aren't quite as fond of it.

Let's have a couple from Ya-Ya day as we found a couple of really cute ones. First is the Martini Shirt. It has a deep V-neck, a keyhole at the back, and banding and ruching at the cuffs of the long sleeves. It's simple yet very elegant, and we love how you could wear it with a variety of different bottoms.
The second top is the Ribbon Cami Tank. Made mostly of silk, it has ruffle trim and chiffon detailing at the bust and the empire waist. There is also pleating at the front, ruching at the bust, spaghetti straps, and five buttons on the side. Comes in three colors, silver, black, and rose.
Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and Busted Tees is celebrating by placing their tee Arrgh Ya Free Saturday Night? on sale. By using the code "Aargh" at check out, you will get the tee at $13.99. This is good until September 24 at midnight. Also available in mens.

Shop Rapunzels is having a sale! Get 20% off using the code "SEPT06" at check out. Works until September 30!

After seeing that cutie from Nanette Lepore last week, we went searching for more great tops by her. We found the Queen Alexandra Wrap Top, which is exotic and romantic looking. Made of 100% silk, this blouse has solid red contrast ruffles at the bell sleeves, a button to secure the wrap on the inside, floral print banding on the V-neck, tie around the waist, and is lined. Besides charcoal shown, it also comes in red.
The Shirt Snob has recently discovered Crooked Monkey, a t-shirt company that makes "college tees." We actually think some of them are pretty funny. We particularly like Smiley Face, Shake that Laffy Taffy, I Double Dare You, and their logo tank top. They also sell men's tees as well.
September 15, 2006
The Shirt Snob is going to try doing shoes again for Accessory Friday this week. Last week's post motivated us to give it a try with some dressy shoes. We have always loved Mary Janes, and these ones are so super cute! They are from Rebecca Taylor and come in two colors, natural and gold. They have a heel, a strap that goes across at your ankle that fastens with a button, and there are little peep holes on the toe.
Here's a cashmere sweater that the Shirt Snob really wants, the Short Puff Sleeve V Neck Sweater by Catherine Malandrino. This V-neck has puff sleeves as its name implies as well as pleating at the bust, yoke detail at the empire waist, a rolled bottom hem, and ruching at the shoulders. It's simple and elegant and can be worn with almost anything. Comes in loden and pearl.
September 14, 2006
With the weather getting cooler, you need to start adding some cute sweaters into your fall wardrobe. Consider the Zigzag Hoodie by L.A.M.B. This knit pullover has banding at the hood, long sleeves, and zigzag stripes throughout. We think this will be a great transition piece until you start wearing a coat to keep warm. Comes in two colors, palomino and winter white.
After yesterday's casual theme, let's get back to something a little dressier. The Short Sleeve Pin Tuck Blouse by Catherine Malandrino definitely fits that bill. This V-neck is a wool and silk blend with embroidered eyelet detail on the waist, cuffs, and bottom hem, pin tucking throughout, darting at the bust, and a side hidden zipper. This is a great one to wear with a skirt or skinny pants. Also comes in antique white.
September 13, 2006
To continue on our simple theme from the previous post, the Shirt Snob is in the mood for a good henley. Nothing weird or different, just the basics. Here are some of our favorites. Juicy Couture has a Short Sleeve Henley that is green and white stripes. C&C California has a Striped 3/4 Sleeve Henley that comes in four colors and is cashmere (great for fall!). James Perse makes the Long Sleeve Henley, which is available in nine colors, and the Three Quarter Sleeve Henley, available in seven colors. Splendid has the 1 X 1 Button Henley in four colors, the Very Light Jersey Short Sleeve Henley in cobalt, aqua, sailor, grass, and chick, and the Very Light Jersey Pocket Henley in vanilla and geranium. And adam+eve have a 3/4 Sleeve Henley in five colors. So if you are on the lookout for this essential basic in your wardrobe, here are a few great places to start your search!
The Shirt Snob has had a hard time finding a simple shirt that she really likes lately. So we're going to share one we just found with you. The Very Light Fashionable Jersey Long Sleeve Top by Splendid is semi-sheer, has some ruching at the top, a scoop neck, and a slight bell at the long sleeves. You won't stand out in a crowd wearing this shirt, but it's comfortable and easy while being a little more exciting than your regular tee. Just throw it on with a pair of jeans and you're good to go. Comes in navy and charcoal.
September 12, 2006
New tees at Threadless this week. Our favorites include Insomnia, Original Sin, Sun Lion, and the reprints Frida's Garden and For the Birds.
Remember how we told you about the 70 Star 7 tees? Well, they now are selling women's tees as well. Considering buying one and helping out a few charities such as the American Cancer Society and SIDS Alliance!
Here is a beauty from Nanette Lepore, the Heirloom Floral Charmeuse Top. This 100% silk blouse has ruffle trim at the rounded neckline and sleeves, shirred raw cut sash at the empire waist, is lined at the bust, and has an invisible back zipper. It's very flattering, and we love the print as well.
September 11, 2006
There are three new tees for women (finally!) at Busted Tees. Unfortuately, the Shirt Snob doesn't get any of them. But maybe you will? Either way, we love their old stuff.
Remember Ktt Shirts? The Shirt Snob wrote a review of them back in May, and we still really like the tee. They've since added three more styles, Jelly Family, Octuopussy, and Fox. They are also selling men's tees too.
September 9, 2006
Bluefly is having another contest, this time for shoes. We don't know how long the contest is running, but you can have them send you emails to remind you to play every day. What's two minutes when you can win designer shoes?
September 8, 2006
Frosting is having a clearance sale. Get 30-70% off tons and tons of stuff.
Today is a Shirt Snob first! We are going to show you shoes for Accessory Friday! That's right, the Shirt Snob, who knows nothing about shoes at all, is going to show you some great ones. Of course, these aren't your ordinary every day pumps. Instead, we have recently discovered Tamara Henriques boots, and we think they are the cutest thing we've seen in a long time. Great for a rainy day, these boots will keep your feet warm. They are made of 100% rubber, have a polyester lining, a heel slightly over an inch high, and come up to just below the knee. They come in a few cute colors: argyle, William Morris print, Leopard, antique floral, polka dot, toile and pink tweed (which are on sale). If you want to jump in puddles this fall, you can now be stylish while you do it!
Yet another print we love! The Tulip Jacquard Silk Top by Marc by Marc Jacobs is so stunning, we just can't get enough of it! It is pleated at the neck with a five button closure and tie, ruching at the shoulders, a tie at the waist, and cap sleeves. The print is monochromatic tulip and flower detailing. It is so delicate, and we love how it shines. Besides bluebeard, it also comes in new prussian blue and tinted pearl.
September 7, 2006
We think the Shirt Snob is going through a lace phase, there seem to be a lot of them lately that we're covering. This next one has lace too! The Silk with Lace Wrap Top by Rebecca Taylor is a semi-sheer wrap top with a tie at the waist. It has long sleeves, ruching at the back and waist, and lace banding at the V-neck, waist, and cuffs.
Now, this next blouse is not for everyone, but we think some of you could certainly pull it off. The Vintage Lace Camisole by Cynthia Steffe has an embroidered bodice and heart printed vintage lace trim along the neck and straps, making it about as girly as a top can be. If you are looking for something ultra-feminine, this might be it. There is also an empire waist and cotton netting at the bottom hem and the wide straps.
September 6, 2006
We must admit that the Shirt Snob hasn't always loved paisley. It's taken us years to appreciate it, and now only some paisley items we approve of. Here is one, the Retro Paisley Top by Guess. This blouse has a deep V-neck, lace alone the cap sleeves and neck, an empire waist, and button loop closures down one side. We love the rich colors, it's just so pretty! Great price too at only $69!
Here is another pretty one if you want to be a little dressy. The Long Sleeve Empire Blouse by Development is 100% silk, semi-sheer, with an empire waistline. There is ruffle detailing on the sleeves, front and neckline and lurex stitching detail. A tie with balls on the end is at the sharp V-neck, and there is also a hidden side zipper. Comes in beige and grey.
There is a one day sale going on right now at Shop Rapunzels. Enter the code "1daysale" at check out to receive 25% off your order. This is good only for September 6th, so head over there before the day is over!
September 5, 2006
We found this top in the September issues of Lucky, and we think it's great under a nice jacket. The Silk Tunic by Geren Ford has spaghetti straps, banding and ruching above the bust, and is loose fitting. It has great prints though. Polka is nice, but scallop is the one we really like. If you like this print, you may also like the Print Kimono Dress also in the scallop print.
Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you all had a great long weekend with better weather than we had up in the northeast! We are going to start this week off with a beauty from one of our favorite designers that we should show more of, Nanette Lepore. The Debutante Silk Top has a deep V-neck, pleating in the back, a seam under the bustline with a bit of ruching, and ten buttons going down the front. We think the best part though is the removeable tie at the neck. It's a great way to make one shirt look like two! Comes in three colors, ivory, black, and chocolate.
September 2, 2006
James Perse is on sale at Willow 506. Use the code "James" during check out and receive 15% off all James Perse items you buy. Sale ends September 15.
Frosting is having a Labor Day sale. Get 10% off everything they sell this weekend only.
September 1, 2006
Anne Maa Designs has a new collection out, and we just love it! Our favorite items include Ruby and Aspen Necklace, the Wrapped Quartz 2 Tone Necklace, the Ruby and Kale Earrings, the Turquoise and Cone Earrings, and the Peridot Rosary Necklace. But really, it's hard to choose a few favorites because we love them all so much. This collection just feels so right for fall, especially with the leaves and the colors.
Why don't we finish the week off with the same designer we started with, Catherine Malandrino? This top, the Deep V Short Sleeve Blouse, we can't stop looking at, maybe because of the gorgeous ginger color. Made of 100% cotton, it has pleating at the bust and waist, contrast piping at the edges, embroidered banding at the V-neck waist, cuffs, and bottom hem, short sleeves, and is lined.
