Pink Mascara is having a Labor Day Sale. You can get an additional 20% off all sale items when you use the code "Labor20" at check out. They've just added a bunch more to their sale items too. This deal ends at midnight PST on September 4.
We discovered Festa Stuff via SheFinds (a great blog you should all check out). We figured they were the usual t-shirt company that has area specific stuff that we often come across. But Festa Stuff is different. First, they seem to have tons and tons of areas. Second, they aren't crude or super witty, just fun and festive. The ones that fit the Shirt Snob include Rhode Island (where the Shirt Snob was born and raised!), a New England tee, a Fenway tee (Red Sox for those of you that don't know), an East Coast tee, and one for Boston. They even have a Sorority Girl shirt that doesn't put us down with stereotypes! We wish we had found Festa Stuff sooner, we think they're great!
This next top looks so warm and cozy, we want it right now! The Reverse Jersey Tie Waist Cardigan by Lily McNeal is the perfect sweater to throw over your favorite tee. It hangs past the hip, has a hood, a tie at the waist, two pockets in the front, and long sleeves. Comes in two colors: rose and tan. If you like this sweater, you may like the very similar Striped Beach Cardigan as well.
We know some schools are already back in session, but where we are they don't start until after Labor Day, so on we go with our Back to School options. Here are two options from Urban Outfitters, the Soundgirl Western Plaid Button Down and the Lux Peter Pan Collar Top. We know the plaid shirt may not be everyone's taste, but at this time of year the Shirt Snob just can't help herself. The air is getting cooler, and along with craving apples, falling leaves, and Halloween costumes, we crave plaid. This top has buttons going down the front, a bit of metallic thread woven into the plaid, a lace trimmed placket, three button cuffs, and pintucked shoulders. It runs a bit on the small side too, so keep that in mind.
The Lux Peter Pan Collar Top is semi-sheerwith tonal stripes, a rounded collar, double button placket, and slightly puffed sleeves. It comes in three colors: pale dirty rose, ivory, and olive. We like it because you can wear it with a pair of jeans or a nice skirt to dress it up a bit, and you'll always stand out with the collar.
You can get 25% off everything at Fred Flare. This sale ends Friday, August 31 at midnight. Use the code "Fredfan.080" at check out for the sale to apply to your order.
Let's make today a Joie day! This next blouse would be great for work under a nice suit. The Angel Drawstring Blouse has a ruffled collar, buttons going down the front, ruffles on the front, a drawstring around the waist, and 3/4 length sleeves. It comes in three colors: chalk, pecan, and caviar.
The Shirt Snob finds this next blouse, Carbon by Joie, to be very pretty and feminine. It is a semi-sheer cotton and silk blend with lace around the V-neck, raw edges, short sleeves, ruching at the bust, and a wrap tie. We love how delicate it looks, and we think it would be a great top to wear in many situations, either dressed up or down.

Busted Tees is celebrating Back to School time with free shipping! Buy three or more tees, use the code "MUFFIN," and you'll get free shipping on your order.
We really like this new one from Ella Moss, the Greta Wrap Tunic. It hangs past the hips, has contrast banding along the neck and bottom hem, a string to tie the wrap, and short sleeves. It comes in three colors: wedgewood, black, and forest. Wear it to the beach or just around town. Either way, you'll be super comfortable in it!
Happy Monday readers! We are going to start your week off right with this beauty from Catherine Malandrino. The Embroidered Top is a silk and cotton mix (with 100% silk lining) with a V-neck, pleated chiffon waist, ten buttons going down the front, short sleeves, and embroidery on the mesh bodice. We just love this blouse, it looks so fun to wear and very flattering.
Let's move away from our usual jewelry and handbags for this week's Accessory Friday. Instead, let's look at hair accessories, specifically those from Jane Tran. We first noticed this beautiful Hair Comb, which we think would look great as a bride's hair piece. From there, we discovered many other great items, such as the Flower Spray Pin in coral and carnelian and citrine, the Shell Flower Barette, and the Flower Hair Pin. You can find many other great hair pieces on her website, some super expensive and some very affordable.
You all know how much we love owls right now. So the Shirt Snob has decided to show you the new owl items at Fred Flare in case you have the same obsessioin. Right now there's owl earrings, an owl necklace, the Pink Owl Henley, and what we're probably going to get, the Hoot Hoot Thermal.
As we told you earlier, we recently received two shirts from 19 23, whom we wrote about last month, to review. They are the Best Friends tees, resembling the charms many girls give each other when they are young. They are cute, and we really like the colors pink and brown together.
The fit is a little tight. We don't remember what size we received, and we can't find a tag in the shirt to tell us, so we don't know if it's tight because it's a medium or if it's a large and on the small side. Either way, it's best for women with longer torsos we think. We also don't know what the shirt is made out of exactly, but it feels like your regular t-shirt. Since we don't have the tag, we also don't know what the shirt is made out of exactly or how to wash it.
Each shirt has a message on the inside that spouts the company's philosophy. The one in the tees we got is "When I am old, you will be older. We will have to determine where our loyalties lie. And if our friendship doesn't work out, we'll bury our charms in the dirt by the big maple tree." The Shirt Snob isn't exactly sure what this philosophy means, but the second sentence sounds like a Harry Potter quote to us, so we like it!
There are new tees available at Miele Fresca for fall. You may remember we wrote about them last April for the first time. Our favorites are Lady Octopus, and Miss Owl (obviously). They are also having a sale on all their 2005 tees, including a very similar Owl, Night Plume, and Bird on a Wire.
The Shirt Snob found when we were in school, it was nice to have a good staple in many different colors. Here is one example, the Gateway Cable V Sweater by American Eagle. This sweater has a V-neck, cable detailing, is ribbed on the neck, bottom hem, and cuffs, and has their signature logo on the chest. It's simple, so when you don't want to think about what you're wearing to class but what to look presentable (i.e., not an oversized sweatshirt!), it's great to have on hand. And it comes in 11 colors, so you're bound to find a few that work for you.
This sweater is nothing super special, but it looks awfully cosy and warm, and we think it'd be great for the fall. The Holding Out Sweater by Joie is made of a cashmere and wool blend. It has a ribbed shawl collar, cable detailing throughout, large ribbed bottom hem, and four buttons down the front. Comes in two colors: heather grey and pecan.
Another t-shirt company is Concrete Hermit. They have a few women's tees, and we really like Monkey Brains and Loaded Wings. This company is across the pond though, so if you're in the US, you'll probably be paying a lot in shipping. But we know that is no matter if you really like a shirt! Concrete Hermit also sells men's tees, pins, and books.
Oddica has hoodies now! They are in a variety of prints, including our much beloved Tape Bird and Sheltered 2. They are all unisex, so buy the next size down. For instance, if you are normally a medium, buy the small.
For our second work blouse today, we really like the Astaire Top by Diane von Furstenberg. This 100% silk top is semi-sheer, has a tie at the neck, eight button closure, ruffle detail, ruching at the shoulders, cap sleeves, and triple darting detail at the front and back. What really makes it interesting is the print. You can take a boring black suit, pair it with this blouse, and you'll shine! Or pair it with a matching skirt instead.
Let's focus on blouses to wear to work today (besides the updates we just found out about from Threadless and Oddica that we'll shortly be posting). We really like the Cap Sleeve Tie Back Blouse by Sunner. This top has ruffle trim down the front and at the bottom hem in the back. There is also ruching at the natural waist, one inch banding at the waist that ties in the back, layer detail at the sleeves, and eight buttons going down the front. It comes in three colors, petal, shadow, navy, and white striped. Although one could dress it down, we think it'd look great when going into the office, a great way to spice up an old suit.
It seems like almost everything at FCUK is on sale right now. You may want to check them out if you're interested in some great deals. Some of our favorites include the Primrose Top, the Belinda Tunic, the Cocktail Top, and the Carrie Boat Knit.
Laser Leaf Cut Sheer Babydoll by Catherine Malandrino
Happy Monday readers! The Shirt Snob has finally gotten over our mini vacation, so we are back to full speed on this blog! We're going to start the week with one of our favorite designers, Catherine Malandrino. We found the cutest tank top that we have to show you all, the Laser Leaf Cut Sheer Babydoll. What really makes this top is the laser cut feature along neckline, hem, waist and as straps and sash (which ties in the back) in a heart shaped pattern. The waist is open where this design is located as well. There is ruching at the bust and below the waist, the bottom hem is uneven, and it is made of 100% silk with 100% cotton contrasts. It comes in two colors, soy and caspian, as well as the Laser Leaf Cut Dress. It is also very similar to the the Laser Leaf Cut V Top (aka the Chantico Embroidered Blouse), which we showed you last month.
So the Shirt Snob isn't being very snobby today. We really like a lot of the new shirts at Threadless. This includes Water Tower, Some College Somewhere, Myopia Utopia, A is for Jerks! (which we think works great as a kid's shirt), and the reprints 99 Luftballons and Flowers in the Attic. Their sale is still going on too. How can you not buy a bunch of they are all only $10? We're stocking up for our holiday presents with this sale!
Long Sleeve Mixed Pointelle Sweater by Catherine Malandrino
When we first saw the Long Sleeve Mixed Pointelle Sweater by Catherine Malandrino, we thought we had seen it before. Turns out, it's very similar to the Open Knit Twist Front Cami we showed you last June. The knit sweater is made of 100% baby alpaca, so it's very soft. It has an empire waist, crossover bust with two inch banding and pleat detailing, and pointelle detailing throughout. It is semi-sheer and lined at the bust and has long sleeves. It also comes in three colors: noir, pearl, and rosewood.
We had a feeling that Threadless would have another sale soon. Their Back to School sale just started, ends in the morning on August 21, and each tee is $10. Remember that their tees sell out fast, sometimes while you are filling your shopping cart, so make sure if you want something specific you get over there soon.
The winner of the Threadless Loves Threadless contest is Psychedelic Peacock. There's also a new contest with Hellogoodbye with the theme "Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!"
Threadless is going to have another six tees come out tomorrow and Wednesday, so look for more great tees later this week!
This top is really fun, so even though you may not get a ton of use out of it with fall coming (unless you're lucky and live in a warmer area than the Shirt Snob), we decided we had to show it to you. The Halter with Natural Wooden Beads by Who Cares is made of 100% silk. There is smocked banding at the waist, small bow details where the necklace hits the blouse, and the wooden beads, which have a clasp in the back, act as the tie keeping the top on. The necklace can also be worn separately. Besides brown, it also comes in red with navy beads. While you're looking at this halter, also check out the vendor, Rapunzel's Closet. They have a great new look to their website!
Happy Monday readers! We found a cute hoodie at Fossil, and we think it'd be great for a back to school top. The Crystal shirt is short sleeved, has six buttons at the neck, and a hood. There is also contrast banding along the cuffs and neck. It comes in four colors: pearl, shaded indigo, cinnamon, and henna.
Iron-On Resistance is an independent t-shirt company. They seem really into the art, and the tees reflect that. Regardless of their name, they screen-printed their tees. Our favorites are Ornament Head, Garden Tank, and Punk Girl (which we realize is a departure for us, but we really do like it). They also sell men's tees, handbags and wallets, prints, and pins.
Here's a great sweater for the fall from the Gap. The Shawl Cardigan is made from a blend of cotton, wool, and alpaca. It has a shawl collar, long sleeves, three wooden buttons up the front, two mini patch pockets on the front, elbow patches, and ribbed trim along the bottom hem and cuffs. It's available in two colors, heather grey and snow patch, and it's also available in tall and petite sizes too.
70 Star 7 is a company whose mission is to "see the world positively impacted by giving to charities and our individual communities using creativity as the platform." They do this through shirts, shoes, skateboards, and other items that artists can use and mark up. Right now they have a few t-shirts for sale with 50% of the proceeds going directly to charities, a different one for each tee. More of the proceeds go to someone the artist knows who is in need in his own community. Unfortunately, the company only seem to sell men's tees. Since it's for charity, we thought we'd tell you about them anyway, but hopefully in the future they'll remember us women!
Now, the Shirt Snob isn't too sure we love bubble skirts, but we really like the Bubble Tank by Generra. We know it's a little late in the season to be buying tons more tanks, but this one is simple and yet different, thanks to the ruching at the neck and sides that causes the entire tank to have folds of fabric. The spaghetti straps are adjustable, and it also has a balloon bottom hem. It comes in three colors, amethyst, sable, and black.
