Accessory Friday-Pretty Girls Wear Pearls

prettygirlsJoyous.jpg

For Accessory Friday this week, we're all about Pretty Girls Wear Pearls. We've seen this website suddenly on a few other blogs we read, and we like it enough to share with you in case you haven't seen it yet. There are two main collections, Modern Elegance and Bohemian Elegance, and not all the items have pearls (although plenty do!). We really like the Stars and Moon Bracelet, the Sweet Necklace, the Sexy Earrings, the Joyous Earrings and the Grapevine Set. The prices are great (we don't recall seeing anything outside of the sets above $50), so you can easily buy what you like without worrying at all about breaking the bank. Our only wish is that the pictures were taken with better macro so we could see the close up pictures better. But we can let this go since we want so much from them.

Salsa Top by Susana Monaco

susanamonacosalsa.jpg

Today obviously isn't a flashy day for the Shirt Snob. Here's another simple classic top that would be great in anyone's wardrobe. The Salsa Top by Susana Monaco is has a V-neck, banding at the empire waist, ruching at the top of the bust, and it ties behind the neck. It's very soft and comes in six colors, midnight, marmalade, rainforest, lilypad, firecracker red, and brown. There's also the Salsa Dress if you like the halter.

Pandora Halter Top by Ella Moss

ellamosspandora.jpg

This next shirt is simple, but we can't help but love it. The very soft Pandora Halter Top by Ella Moss has braided straps that tie behind the neck, a gathered V-neck, and ruched banding at the back. Ruching is also at the sides, the empire waist, and the bottom hem, and elastic banding at the bottom hem. The bust is also lined. Comes in two colors, coffee and black.

Beaded Halter Top by Susana Monaco

smonacobeadedhalter.jpg

Here is yet another cute top from Susana Monaco that we adore. The Beaded Halter Top has a pleated bust, ties around the neck, and a zipper on the side. What makes it special though is the crochet trim with wooden beading that go along the tie as well as at the empire waist. It comes in two colors, red and brown. We think this is such a fun shirt to wear this summer and would look great in so many different occasions.

Threadless Has More Tees

threadlesshi.jpg

Well, the Shirt Snob is having a bad day, but we were lucky to get some news that makes us happy. Threadless has more shirts out, and we really like them all! Since we like to choose favorites, we'll say that HI (also available in kids sizes), Oh My Virgin Eye, Not So Treacherous Waters, and Decay (which would have worked really well over at Oddica too) are the ones we like the most out of the new prints. We also like Psychedelic Creatures from Threadless Select and the reprint Ask Me How I Became a Pirate.

Don't Talk to Strangers over at Busted Tees is finally available in women's sizes. About time, we love this shirt!

New at Oddica

oddicatape_bird.gif

Oddica, who we wrote about last week, has come out with eight new tees. Our favorite is definitely Tape Bird. They are also having a sale. Buy one shirt at $20 (their standard price), two shirts at $27, and three or more for only $12 each. This goes until July 7th. Oddica was also kind enough to send us a tee to review, hopefully we'll get that up this week as well!

Four Blouses From Fourtys

fourtysribbontrimsquare.jpg

Today let's look at some cute tops from Fourtys, since we love a bunch of them. First is the Ribbon Trim Square Neck Top. We think this blouse is very feminine, would really flatter most body types, and could either be dressed up or down depending on what you wear with it. There is crochet and ribbon trim at the neck and sleeves, with a tie at the front of the bust. Comes in two colors, black with white trim and white with black trim.

fourtyseyeletbuttonup.jpg

Next, we really like the Short Sleeve Eyelet Button Up Top. The Shirt Snob really has a thing for eyelets, we love almost all shirts with them. This one has very short sleeves, a V-neck, a ruffled bottom, and buttons up the front. This blouse is a little more dressy than the previous one, it'd be great for any summer weddings you have this summer.

fourtyswoodbead.jpg

The Wood Bead Crochet Cami is also a favorite. It is 100% cotton and semi sheer, with adjustable straps and three buttons at the bust. There is crochet detail all over the bust and wooden beads along the empire waist and the bottom hem.

fourtyscottonlacetie.jpg

Finally, we also like the Three Quarter Bell Sleeve Cotton Lace Tie Blouse. Also made of 100% cotton, this V-neck has lace detailing along the top hem, a tie at the back, and ties at the sleeves as well. There is also elastic at the natural waist and the bottom hem flares out from there.

Sumi Blossom Cotton Tank by Marc by Marc Jacobs

marcjacobssumi.jpg

The Shirt Snob is falling for all the black and white tops out there this season. We can't help it! Here is a great one if you don't want much color, the Sumi Blossom Cotton Tank by Marc by Marc Jacobs. This sleeveless blouse is semi sheer with a V-neck, hidden zipper in the back, and an empire waist. There is also twisted banding at the neck back and arms as well as banding and ruching at the waist. We really like the print though, wild white flowers on a black background with a hint of blue in the centers. If you like the print, also check out the Sumi Blossom Cotton Dress.

Sparkle Babydoll Cami by Rebecca Taylor

rtaylorsparkle_.jpg

Happy Monday everyone! Let's start the week off right with this cute camisole by Rebecca Taylor. Both the shell and the lining on the Sparkle Babydoll Cami are 100% silk, the spaghetti straps are adjustable, and there's smocking at the back. Beads and sequins cover the top of the bust in a flowery pattern. It's a little revealing but still a fun top, perfect for a night out on the town!

Sheer Lace Top by Gold Hawk

goldhawksheerlace.jpg

If you are interested in something very girly, lace is always the way to go. We like the Sheer Lace Top by Gold Hawk. This blouse is 100% crinkled silk chiffon and has a cream colored lace trim along the neck, sleeves, bottom hem, and the waist. There is also an empire waist, V-neck, and a tie in the back. This blouse is very sheer, a white cami would probably be best underneath it. Comes in three colors, malt, citron (both at above link) and peach.

Threadless Has More New Tees

threadlessgranola.jpg

There's more new at Threadless. This week we like Homeless (we love owls, poor little guy), Illusion of Rabbit Optical, Granola, the reprint Rocketbird (also available as a kid's tee), and the Type Tee Death, Our Nation's Number One Killer. There's also a contest going on to find the best unique shirt, which means

No drips, no hearts, no skulls, no birds, no over-sized animals, no internet cliches, no clusters of random things, no pirates, no ninjas, no ironic references to 80s pop-culture, no 45-degree angles, and for the love of all that is holy - no more talking food!

So hopefully we'll soon be seeing a ton of new designs unlike anything we're seen before!

Silver Dot Wrap Top by Rebecca Taylor

rtaylorsilverdot.jpg

If you liked the previous blouse by Rebecca Taylor, you may also like this one from her, the Silver Dot Wrap Top. This top is also 100% silk, and it has the same pleats on the shoulders and back as the Habatoi Top. However, instead of the belt it has silver dot embroidery and sequin and mesh appliques on the front. There are also ruffles on the sleeves and bottom hem, a tie on the side, and a V-neck. It comes in two colors, cream and sunrise (which has gold dots, not silver).

Habatoi Wrap Top by Rebecca Taylor

rtaylorhabatoi.jpg

Looking for something dressy but not boring? We love the Habatoi Wrap Top by Rebecca Taylor. This 100% silk wrap has ruffled edging on the sleeves, neck and bottom hems, pintuck detailing down the back, and a decorative belt with lace, flowers, and sequins on it. There is also a tie at the back and a deep V-neck. You could dress this blouse down with a pair of pants or wear it with a skirt for a more formal setting. Either way, you'll look great!

Oddica

oddicabluebird.gif

There is a new t-shirt company out there that we must share with you all. Oddica is what it sounds like, a place for odd t-shirt designs. They are all similar to the artsy ones over at Threadless, some a little more disturbing than others. But all are very artistic, so we can't help but love each and every one. Right now our favorites are Sheltered, The Undertaker, Bluebird Migrane, and Above it All. They have a bunch more coming in the next few days as well (we're excited for Tape Bird), with more after that. There is a great page about all the designers which includes their personal websites, kids tees are coming next month, and they have a great program for the artists, so if you are a designer, consider bringing your stuff here. All shirts are printed on American Apparel, and there is a June sale. Buy one tee for $20, two for $30 and three or more for $14 each.

Mandalay Halter by Sky

skymandalay.jpg

Looking for something fun and sexy? Consider the Mandalay Halter by Sky. There are three circular medallions at the waist with purple and red stones in them. Two more medallions are by the shoulders as well. There is an empire waist, a tie behind the neck, and ruching at the bust. This halter is great if you want to really make a splash the next time you go out!

DustinDiamondtee.png

We aren't sure if you heard this latest shirt news, so we thought we'd bring it to you just in case. The actor that played Screech on Saved by the Bell is in danger of losing his house. Dustin Diamond needs to pay $250,000 in order for the house not to forclose. So he is autographing shirts with his face on them and selling them at $15 to $20 each. You can either buy a shirt or just get more info at his website.

Blogpire Productions Blogs Announce Investment in the Planet's Future with Green Tags

Green-Tag-Logo Type-Grn-1What can we say? We really thought our blogs should be a bit greener? As of today, we're going to buy enough Green Tags, also called renewable energy credits, from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, to offset the environmental impact from our hosting and computer operations for the coming year.

Green tags are an investment in the production of renewable energy sources through wind and solar power. Using clean renewable energy reduces emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. By purchasing green tags, Blogpire Productions hopes to lessen our dependence on burning fossil fuels.

We also hope you'll help out as well. Individuals as well any business can buy Green Tags. Please visit the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and purchase Green Tags to offset your use of fossil fuels.

Punch Apparel

punchapparel.gif

Otter from Punch Apparel wrote the Shirt Snob a while ago to tell us about his t-shirt site. We think it's pretty good, so we thought we'd tell you all about it too. Their shirts appeal to the 20 somethings of the world, with designs such as Old Enough and Thousandaire. They also have a few state/country joke shirts similar to what other companies have as well. Besides women's tees, they also sell men's shirts. Our only issue is that they don't say how the women's tees run in size, only the men's. So we don't know how they fit. However, you can exchange if the tee is the wrong size for you. Also make sure to check out their blog while you're at their site.

Hayworth Halter and Two Tone Halter by Susana Monaco

monacohayworth2.png

Happy Monday! We thought we'd start out the week with two really cute finds, the Hayworth Halter and the Two Tone Halter, both by Susana Monaco. Thie Hayworth Halter has elastic ruching on the back, pintuck and structure piping, a side zipper and is fully lined. We love the zig zag pattern in green and white.

monacotwotone.png

The Two Tone Halter has an empire waist with a band that also goes up to tie behind the neck, gathered seams across the chest and waistline, and the breast area is lined. Although the color doesn't work on anyone, it can work great on some and is unusual enough to make you stand out. Best part is, it's almost $150 cheaper than the Hayworth Halter!

Calligraphy Print Tube Top by Susana Monaco

monacocalligraphy.jpg

The Shirt Snob has fallen for yet another print. The Calligrapny Print Tube Top by Susana Monaco is very pretty. We can't decide if the design is just random or sort of a wild flower design, but either way we really like it. It is made of mostly silk with contrast banding at the waist which ties in the back as well as banding at the top. It is semi-sheer except at the bust which is lined. Comes in two colors, brownie and olivine. If you like this, you may also like the Calligraphy Cover, also by Monaco. The print is the same, but it ahs short sleeves, a V-neck, buttons at the neck, and ruching at the bust, back, and shoulders.

Accessory Friday-Body Linens

bodylinens.jpg

For this week's Accessory Friday, we are going to show you one of our favorite things in this world, pajamas. These pjs by Body Linens are great because you can choose your thread count. They come in 300, 500, and 800 thread counts, obviously getting more expensive the higher up you go. Besides that, you can also get some of their pjs monogrammed. There are four choices for women, The Classic, The Nighty, Cami/Capri, and Melon Stripe PJ. The first three all have the signature pink ruffle, the last obviously having a stripe instead. These pajamas seem to be very high quality, made of Egyptian cotton with french seams, mother of pearl buttons, and no tags. They also make mens pajamas as well. We think this would be a great gift for anyone as well as a wonderful way to treat yourself.

Cummerbund Tunic by Rachel Pally

pallycummerbund.jpg

This top is rather simple, but we really like the look of it. The Cummerbund Tunic by Rachel Pally would be a great top to pair with a pair of jeans for a quick and easy look this summer. The halter top has a deep V-neck, pleated banding at the empire waist, ruching at the bust and below the banding, and an unfinished bottom hem. Comes in black, white, and cherry. Similar to this is the Cummerbund Halter Dress in cherry and peach.

Empire Top by Wyeth

wyethempire.jpg

Here is a top that we think you could easily wear for years to come, it's got such a classic and clean look. The Empire Top by Wyeth is 100% silk, has a scoopneck and an empire waist. Buttons go down one side, there is ruching at the waist, and a ribbon ties at the back. It does blouse out a bit, so be sure to wear this one with bottoms that help thin you out.

Kimono Top by Single

The Shirt Snob loves kimono blouses and hasn't written about one in a while, so we must show you this one we just found by Single. This Kimono Top is made of 100% silk, has a deep V-neck, an empire waist, sleeves that go to the elbows, and a tie in the back. We love the print, it's stunning. If you're looking for something a little different, this is definitely for you!

$10 Sale at Threadless, Plus Over 30 New Tees!

threadlessloverain.jpg

While we were away last night, Threadless decided to have another $10 sale! This is only a three day sale, and it started yesterday, so get over there before everything is gone. These sales totally clear out their merchandise! They have tons of new tees (Impossible Love, Clouds are People Too, and Love*Rain are the best in the Shirt Snob's opinion), reprints (Loch Ness Imposter is a good one), and they are now selling kids tees (including Cookies Loves Milk, which is also a reprint), Type Tees (as their sites says "winning slogans set in awesome typefaces") (our favorite being If you can read this make me a sandwich, also available in a kid tee), and Select Tees ("Leaders in the design field design tees") like Rainbow Warrior. Threadless also has a new design to their website. However, the site is very slow and not really loading for us right now. Hopefully they'll fix that so you can buy more of their great tees for less!

Full Tie Tube Top by Rachel Pally

pallyfulltie.jpg

Sigh. Now, the Shirt Snob knows that we love shirts, but other clothing items we just can't stand. One of these things is leggings. Black ones we can deal with, but these blue ones are just awful. Really, we just think they ruin such a beautiful top (and that's why we cropped most of them out). We really like the shirt though, so that's why we're showing it to you. We'll just pretend the leggings aren't there. The Full Tie Tube Top by Rachel Pally can also be worn as a halter top. The nine inch banding that is tied at the bust as shown can be tied around the neck or at the back. The edges are unfinished, the botom hem is rounded, and the blouse flows through the body. If you like it as much as we do, please consider wearing a different bottom!

Dahlia Top by Diane von Furstenberg

dianedahlia.jpg

Here is yet another fun tank from Diane von Furstenberg. The Dahlia Top is fun and flirty in design and we love the print, which sort of looks like a mock camoflauge. The little bow in front makes one thing of innocence, yet the cut reminds the Shirt Snob of a nighty. Naughty yet nice! It is 100% silk with a lining that is mostly silk as well. It has an empire waist, the drawstring we already mentioned at the waist, and there is disc detailing on the spaghetti straps.

Kuta Cami by Ya-Ya

yayakuta.jpg

We just found this cute camisole from Ya-Ya, the Kuta Cami. It's a cotton silk mix with a silk lining. There is a four button closure at the bust, lace trim at the bust, bottom hem, and down the body, and there are spaghetti straps. A tie is also at the waist. We really like the pink print, but it also comes in white.

Bandeau Top by Daryl K

darylbandeau.jpg

We really like this next top, it's a little different than others we've been showing you recently. The Bandeau Top by Daryl K has a more boxy cut at the neck, which we really like. It has four inch straps, ruching below the bust and on the straps as well as on the banding on the bust. Smocked banding is also at the back, where the top looks very unique, as if it is two pieces, the bust banding and the rest. We also like the colors too, dusty spruce, which is shown, and bleached shadow.
